Opposing any act of any other religion or faith is inspiring fire which no religion in their true sens
e, will admit. It is their short sight that they oppose idol worship. Even Islamic people respect and worship their holy book Koran made of just a piece of paper. Even, their mosques are made of stones, but they respect it and they consider it a holy place. If an idol is not a holy place, how a mosque becomes holy. Such thoughts are just inspiration of fire between people of of different faiths.

Islam opposes idol worship because the fundamental belief is to Worship one God (Allah), who has no son or partner. Idol worship was prevalent in pre-islamic Arabia and Islam replaced that!
The purpose of creation of mankind is to worship God Alone.
The reason why idol worship is opposed is because the worship which is meant for God only is wrongly directed towards man-made idols which cannot do anything for mankind or themselves even!
How unjust is it that a person forsakes his Creator, the one who provided him with so many blessings.. hearing, sight, intellect etcetc for that which is unable to do anything for him??
God warns the idol worshippers that if they do not repent and worship Him alone, they will be in Hellfire.
Think of the following as an example.. If you hired me to do a job (and yet you have done nothing for me) .. and then instead of doing this job for you, I either did the same job for others or didn't do anything at all, would you still pay me??? OFCOURSE NOT! You would fire me immediately!
and yet God still provides for the believers and disbelievers alike in this world but the Hereafter is only for those who believed and fulfilled their purpose!
God gives mankind so many opportunities to repent.. but most of mankind do not understand and are ungrateful!

Yes, being very honest, Muslims believe that Idol worshiping is complete falsehood. No we do not believe people should be burned in the fire by people, but yes we do believe Idol worshippers who do so knowlingly have a great chance of going to Hell. But the final judgment belongs to Allah alone.

Because worshipping an idol is the equivalent of associating partners with God, we are against this since we believe that there is only one true God with which no other being can ever be compared.

It is said they are an abomination and shall not see the beauty of heaven. Sort of cost the Israelites a few years in the desert, when they left Egypt. All they did was build a statue and worshiped it. Think they even had it called Baal!

before everything, James X, please do no longer say what you do not comprehend. Steven Hawking once suggested, "The enemy of archives isn't lack of expertise, it is having the phantasm of archives." For one, you question ability that Muslims worshipthe Kaaba. in case you seem to any Muslim/Islam website you'll locate that Muslims do no longer wworshipit. it is a temple. AAncientarabs before Muhammad s.a.s did not worship the kaaba. They positioned their idols contained in the Kaaba. as we talk Muslims pray dealing with the Kaaba as a way of unifying ourselves mutually. we are dealing with it, it truly is all. The Kaaba is the first temple of God outfitted by technique of Abraham. TThank youfor your question and for in search of information about Islam. As salam wa laikum
