Peace from God is a feeling you get when you imagine invisible beings looking over you. It's a rather superficial peace because nothing in reality gives any evidence of any such being. Christians like to tout this type of peace because they really feel it needs to be touted. That's probably to help convince themselves of it more than anything else.

Peace within is when you realize there are no gods and the world is pretty much as it seems. You don't have to worry about cosmic beings playing you like a pawn or judging you on the slightest thing. You realize that you really do control what you do in this life and while bad things happen, it's nothing personal against you. You realize that you're pretty much in the same boat as everybody else. This is a deeper level of contentment because it matches reality closer and therefore has a more solid basis.

Actually, a peace from God becomes a peace within. Otherwise you won't sense the peace. Our perception of reality is what affects our emotions the most. The perspection, world view, interpretation of life, etc. presented in the Bible, yeilds a peace- what could be greater than to feel that you're in God's hands and nothing can take you away from Him. This knowledge and a faith in that knowledge creates the peace that Christians talk about. It comes from God because it comes from the revelation of God through His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Bible.

No difference - if you can accept that God is both outside and inside each person's being. God is the Universe and our soul is also the Universe. Peace from God and peace from within (our soul or being) is one and the same.

Religions and religious teachings/practices tend to start from this concept and usually deviate due to interpretations, desire to control or guide, etc.

There is no peace like the peace that comes from God..to know that He is in control, no matter the situation, no matter the storm that might be raging around. No, there is no peace like the peace that comes from God just like there is no love like the love that comes from God..To know this peace and love, you have to experience it.

Is there any? To me, that seems to suggest that God is something that arises from within ourselves and is not an external force or power. Maybe I was missing something, but anytime I ever prayed to God for personal peace and waited for it to arrive like a package from UPS, it never came. Foolish? Absolutely! I found peace when I realized that it's not going to come from anwhere but within myself and how I accept what is. God is part of us and we are a part of God. Insanity? Heresy? Who knows? Perhaps this is what was meant when it was said that God created man in his image, that he is a part of us, our souls, ourselves, our own psyche and that we have the power to become like him, to evolve as a race to become like gods ourselves.

There is a song we sing," He is your Peace cast all your cares on Him for He Careth for you He is your Peace He is your Peace"
Before you can have Peace within you have to have the Lord in your heart and He will give you peace.

External and internal. If you believe in God, that would an external force that would create peace. Peace within is the peace you find within yourself. Harmony within yourself.
