I saw someone ask this on a message board and so far no responses, so I thought I'd ask here. So, would you say that 20/30 minutes on an elliptical gives the same workout basically or is comparable to going on a treadmill for 1 hour? I can't find any info and I've tried yahoo & google. And not to sound snotty, but please, no nasty answers okay. I hate it when people respond with some saracastic comment that doesn't answer the question.

I hope I can give you some information, I work out at the gym, alturnating days on the eliptical and on the treadmill. At the twenty minute mark on the eliptical I am usually at 2 miles and 210 calories burned, if I am on the treadmill at twenty minutes I am just under 2 miles and 195 calories burned. I feel (for myself) that the eliptical burns more calories in an hour than the treadmil, but if you can run on the treadmil faster then 51/2 miles/hour , the treadmil would be better. I hope I gave you some useful info. Take care!

i somewhat like countless of them... yet bike hurts my butt, Elliptical tires me out waaay too a lot and makes me slightly too sore, and treadmill might want to be uninteresting in case you do not have anthing or all of us to occupy your self on there. So...i am going to flow with treadmill in this one.
