after attending HM A school at Great Lakes, they will sent on to FMSS school before being assigned to a Marine Unit. once at the Marine unit, they will be well trained in all they need to know, especially if they will be going into the field with Marines on patrol.
My father was FMF during Viet nam.

plain and simple, they go to corp school, and after that they go to san diego and go to FMF(fleet marine force) training. this is where they train with the marines. they learn everything else here. i have a buddy who is over there right now, so i actually can back up what i am saying.
