Just for the record, ALL of my pen pals and I have discussed Bible verses. I was just looking for ones I have not used. I'm not judging them, or pushing my religion on them. They ENJOY this. Thanks! :)

There are so many, Sadie. Some that come to mind are "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Also "The Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Try searching your concordance for various scriptures relating to the plan of salvation. Also look for verses regarding comfort, peace, etc.

I don't know you, but I think it is nice of you to try to brighten the lives of those who are incarcerated. However, be wise. Many inmates use well-meaning persons such as yourself in a manipulative manner. Ussually to the detriment of people like yourself. Be a friend to them without being too intimate. Do not be specific about your personal life, where you live, etc. And never send them money or do favors for them. Keep a proper perspective of the situation.

Having said that, I wish you the best.

Why the heck do people think that part of being a Christian means you have to slam people with Bible verses? If you really care about helping these prisoners find god you should be yourself and show that you care about them, who they are, how they think and how they feel. Be compassionate. Be an example of how it is to be a good person, and let them ask you where you find your strength. Don't enter into these pen pal relationships with the intention to let them know about the Bible, rather you should be concerned about developing a personal relationship with the people you write and brightening their lives... that will have more impact that you will ever know.

None. Be a friend, not a proselytizer. Let your pen pals ask for Bible info before you give it to them. Then, be guided by their questions and not your wants. Remember that Jesus said not cast your pearls before the swine. It applies in this case very well. A person has to want what you have to give before it can be of any value to that person.

Book of John- God's Salvation for sinning man.

Some churches have programs where they will provide Bibles and bible study-workbooks for prisoners. Do a net search, you can find one quickly...
