I have been invovled with this guy for almost a year. He is a truck driver and was recently laid off by his company back in May. I have been on him about getting a job, and he has yet to produce. He was good about doing him part financially as far as us dating and going out, so I felt compelled to hold him down, while he was not working, but now I feel like he is just being lazy. Should I continue on with this?

What are you waiting for smart one? You know what to do and you don't need strangers' approval.

He is a truck driver and he can't find a job?!? I would say he is a lazy barstard. I am sorrty for being terse on this one, but the classifieds are amuck of people looking for over-the-road truckers. If he is a union trucker, he should also have unemployment benefits as well as some sort of assistance in finding work. Something doesn't jive here.

How do you feel about him? If you have any deep feelings for the guy, give him an ultimatum. Tell him to get off the couch and go look for a job. If there is no progress after a few weeks, then stick to your guns and dump the guy.

I have a cousin, who did not work for 3 years. What ever reason he gave us was, he want to relax, wait a while. He will find after xx date, after xx date. Which is a nv ending xx date.

If someone, a girl, or guy, do not work. *** them. Dont even get involve with such people. They will pull you down, slowly.. People who do not have income, they r dead.Instead, they will only spend your money like theirs.

Either they find job, or you leave, full-stop.

In end? I forced my cousin to work. Now he has become a better person and got married happy now.

What does he want to do in the future? How does he treat you now? In the future there will be many people without work! Will you two get along when that day comes? Jobs are being outsourced. When they come back they will be automated or roboticized. Where will you be then?

Tell him to go to work or cut him loose from your apron strings. If he is not sick and there is work he may do whether or not it is in the field of his training he should get a JOB NOW. My old Grand Mother use to say "Why buy a cow when the milk is free!" You are not his parents and he should DO THE RIGHT THING and GET A JOB.

Talk to him and tell him what's up! If you don't, your relationship may crumble. Bringing money into the household shouldn't be the responsibility of just you. That wouldn't be fair to you! not to mention it deprives you of things that you may personally need, ya know? Good luck!!

I wouldn't keep him if it was me. It's not about who pays for the date, it's about building a relationship, and his behavior suggests he's using you. If you still have feelings for this guy, try talking him into getting an evaluation for depression.
