Maggy is now 7 weeks old, and she has started to wet herself while she is sleeping, she doesnt wake up or anything. Is this normal? I am going to call the vet about it on monday. Does anybody know what i can do temporarily. She goes out all the time, and while she is awake, she lets us know when she has to go. Is this common in young pups?

Her water does not go in to the cage with her. I have never heard of a dog doing this before.

She is definitely asleep when she does this, i always thought she was getting up at the middle of the night and me not waking up, but i was wrong. I was watching tv last night and she was dead asleep and she peed. She didnt wake up or anything. I witnessed the same thing today. we take her out every 3 hours, besides when she is sleeping, or when she tells us she has to go.

She is dreaming. Dogs can have dreams just like humans. What is happening is that she is having dreams and she is getting excited and or submissive peeing. This is pretty normal with pups. Pups her age are just like human babies. They have very little bladder control. That's why they will pee in the house 5 min after they pee outside. If your giving her water in her kennel? Take it out. And make sure she pees before you put her in her crate at night. This will help. There's not much you can do about her having dreams. As she matures a little more she will stop wetting in her sleep.

It is not normal for a puppy (any age) to wet themselves during sleep. Even very young puppies of 4 or 5 weeks will wake up and try to crawl out of their beds to go pee pee.
I would definitely take her to the vet, SOON, it could be a bladder or kidney infection. The vet will be able to check her and get her on meds to help clear up any problem.

I have never seen that, but when I baby sit pups, I usually try to make sure they get outside at minimum every 4 hours around the clock. Yes, I get up during the night and carry them outside.
I have had many pups for a 3-4 period and maybe had a mess in the morning to clean up twice. (I used to home socialize pups for a guide dog association)

you're on song. you would elect to take him out at 10:00 or 11:00 at evening for one very last pee till now you placed him in his crate. he remains healing from the UTI, so it may take a lengthy time period. you would elect to fully sparkling the crate with bleach and modify the bedding, so there is not any smell of pee left. He would smell it and picture that's alright to do his corporation there. And be affected man or woman with the little guy - he remains only a domestic dog.

It doesn't sound normal to me. Are you sure she's not awake when she does this? Do you see her pee while sleeping or are you finding urine in her crate when you wake up in the morning? If you are seeing her urinate while sleeping then you'll need to call the vet. If you are just finding urine in her crate in the morning then she can't hold it that long and you'll have to get up in the middle of the night to let her out.

Yes. A friend is dealing with this right now. They get into deep sleep and forgot to get up. Just like a like a child. She should out grow it. Her little body is growing and her blatter may not have caught up yet.
Most pet stores do carry a form of doggie diaper. That will cut down on laundry :)

7 Weeks is a little young to be in a home, usually it's about 8 weeks. The puppy may be incontinent while sleeping due to the age but you should really speak to your vet either way..

Crate her for now...most likely it's a bladder infection...talk to the vet, however.
