I hope you're using a DVD-rewriter cos you can't burn to DVD with a CD-rewriter (not that I know of). Try this free software to help you burn to DVD: http://www.cdburnerxp.se/download.php

I use Nero Express 6. There is a dvd writer program in that, and I burn video's I download onto disk a lot. It depends though on what format the video's are.

I've used both K3b and Xcdroast. I've burned over 1,500 CD and DVDs over the past 10 years and have NEVER burnt a coaster (a bad disk).
They are both rock solid. Much better than Nero, etc.
As for the cost, both are free, as all software should be.

you will want a hassle-loose video seize utility to do the shooting first. between the quite accessible hassle-loose utility is Ulead set up it and then seize the video out of your Hcam by potential of a fire cord Card. in the utility there will be an option to go with the variety of video format which you may want to seize. go with MPEG-2 format. This format is quite the DVD format. you should use any DVD burning utility to burn this avi report right into a DVD

recommend Total Video Converter which is pretty good. It allows 15 days free trial only.
