What I'm saying is that I have tried every possible way to lose weight I am 5'11"(5 feet & 11inches tall) & I weigh about 205lbs & I take Centrum vitamins everyday. So if I stopped eating for 3 weeks or longer & just took Centrum vitamins everyday & drank nothing but water everyday too & ate an occasional salad. Could I loose about 10lbs or more. WOULD THIS BE SORT OF HEALTHY BECAUSE EVEN IF I NOT EATING EXCEPT FOR THE OCCASIONAL SALAD I'M STILL TAKING CENTRUM VITAMINS SO THAT IS LIKE A SUBSTITUTE FOR FOOD BECAUSE I GET ALL MY VITAMINS & NUTRIENTS WITHOUT THE CALORIES. I WILL ALSO BE JOGGING WHENEVER I CAN.

no, no, no, no, NO!

just vitamins and the occasional salad isn't going to do the trick. instead of starting off jogging. lift wieghts for a few weeks to get your strength up. which will also increase your metabolism.

then add in your cardio. you can start of walking or jogging--whichever. but, work your way up until you can do 20 minutes at about 5.2 speed on the treadmill. then increase speed until you can do a higher speed during the 20 minute period. if it ever gets easy, they you aren't truly working out (lol).

a workout i can reccomend:
1. MONDAY: PUSH
A. Chest:
i. Bench Press (Bar) - 3 sets x 10-15 reps
ii. Incline (Dumbbells) - 3 sets x 10 - 15 reps
iii. Flies (Machine) - 3 Sets x 10 - 15 reps
B. Shoulders:
i. Military Press (Machines) - 3 sets x 10-15 reps

i. Curls (Machine) - 3 sets x 10-15 reps

this is from my personal trainer. also, eating healthy foods that fuel your body is going to be a major help. remember that if it's not helping you, it's hurting you. look at labels on food--fat content is the biggest thing of all!

good luck!

p.s. when you fast, your body goes in to fat storing mode. eat foods that FUEL your body, which means they will help you burn fat and build muscle along with giving you energy!! remember to do cardio every day you work out. but, start off with just lifting for a few weeks.

Hi,

My comments on this: What you are doing is not very healthy. In fact, if done improperly, would have the reverse effect.

You want to lose weight, you got to make sure your metabolism are working constantly. By eating less suddenly, the metabolism would slowly become "lazy" and won't be as effective as it should be. That is why, it is not advisable to go on that kind of diet. I am towards the end of Fasting month (for muslims) and I can tell you not everyone loses weight.. hehe :) I just gained a tummy :)

Though you are eating the vitamins, there are just somethings that you still need to have via eating "real" food. Fibres, proteins, and believe it or not, FATS are needed to have a total body nutrition.

The proper way to diet is to keep pumping your body with food and taking care to exercise. Control basically the calories intake and balance it up with exercise. Eat small meals instead of the 3 major meals. Avoid eating just before going to bed (at least 2 or 3 hrs before will do)...

We want to diet in a healthy way. Besides, remember this..... The faster your weight reduces, the quicker it can go up once again!

No don't fast. It is not good for you.
If you do not know how to eat a sensible diet. go to mayoclinic.com and look it and you can also read about fasting. It is not a good choice.
Drphil.com should have a good weight loss plan and oprah.com also should have a good one. Bob green is a personal trainer too on the site.
You have a lot of will power but use it to make good choices and don't eat 3 hours before you are going to bed but Oprah says we need a time at try 8:pm or 3 hrs from your earliest bed time. If you eat before going to bed you will not loose weight that day.
If you burn more than you eat you will lose weight. If you could fast you can go eat 1200 calories in 3 meals. lean meat, dry beans, Vegetables, fruits. eat good food enjoy yourself you don't need to fast.
I am going to look for a little more information. I hope this helps. I almost forgot go to oprah site and read what Dr Oz and his coleague have to say about feeling younger and eating healthy. Healthy Habits.

Ok, you'll lose weight. As soon as you start eating normally again, you'll gain it right back. That's called yoyo dieting, and it's very bad for your health. You'll eventually damage your heart and look like heck besides, because after a while, your skin quits fitting you, it doesn't snap back after the weight loss, you sag, and look awful (I have a friend who has this problem). If you were to practice a little more healthy eating, say, a small breakfast, small lunch (there's your salad) and small dinner daily, and do the exercise, you might weigh as much as you do, but your muscles would be awesome! Fat weighs less than muscle, and this could be part of your problem if you've tried other diets.

A little extra weight isn't a big deal. Learn to love yourself no matter your size. People obsess about a little extra weight. BIG DEAL! It's who you are inside and how you feel about yourself that's important.....
Eat what you want and don't stress out. Ask anyone who goes on diets....they just end up gaining more weight later. ALWAYS...so don't diet, no matter what you do. YOu will put all of it back on and more. Ask anyone who diets. I guarantee you,you will end up gaining more. Fasting for any longer than a day and fasting to lose weight is NOT a good idea. Your health is more important than your looks, believe it or not.

This would DEFINITELY not be healthy... no matter what. Here's some ideas... skip the "diets" and eat healthy. Replace all the fluids you are drinking with water only. Eat more meals a day but, cut down on portion size of each single meal. Don't just cut 1 single thing from your diet like going "fat free" or "carb free", try eating a balanced amount instead. Keep an eye on it all. Excersize an hour a day or so. Try to keep away from sugary foods. Say for example if you could only eat 300g of sugar in one day (just an example) don't eat a chocolate cake for breakfast and fast the rest of the day because you ate something unhealthy in the morning. Every chance you get ... excersize! Instead of sitting and watching TV maybe jog in place or something. It's the little things. Also, the vitamins in your pills don't work as good as vitamins from foods, keep that in mind. GL and PLEASE don't try fasting for 3 weeks. ;)

*PS* Don't forget to eat breakfast! It helps in losing weight as well.

The safest way to lose weight is reduce weight gradually, by combining a scientific diet with a suitable exercise like walking. The maximum weight that can be lost safely by a person is 1-2 kg a week. More information on a weight loss diet and exercises available at http://tinyurl.com/jax5h

Jogging is one way to do it, but I'd recommend hill sprints. Short spurts of high-exertion activity will build muscle and burn fat much better than long slow distance. Start with sprints up a 50 yard hill. Jog up the first time, then walk slowly back down. Do one at about 70% effort, then walk down (you will WALK slowly back down each time). Do one at 90%. Then do five at 100% effort. Do this 3-4 times a week and you will lose weight and gain muscle. This will take much less time out of your day than long slow distance and be more effective. If you can't find a hill, use stairs - bleachers in a stadium, for example. Or just do straight flat sprints. They're not quite as effective but they'll do the job. Also, reduce the amount of starchy food you eat. Cut them out completely if you can.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

Not healthy at all. I say, look and talk to the women who like you just the way you are. Your body will go into shock on a diet like that, not to mention that you will be a miserable wreck as well. 5'11"? And you are calling yourself fat? OMG! Most women love men who are that weight at that height. Just firm up and tone up. Do your sit ups and eat right. Jog, whatever, but quit freaking out that you are fat. If you have body mass where you don't particularly like it, work out and put it where you want it to be, lol! Lighten up. It is very much within the range of healthy.
