I took 20mg's on Friday and abt 50 to 60mg's on Sunday. I had to take a drug test Friday at 2:00. They send the results into a lab and can detect any traces of opiates! How long do traces of the drug stay in your system and if i test negative but they find small traces of opiates in my system....can they hold that against me in court or prove that i have been using? Also...is there any way that you can test positive for opiates even if you havent been using? Do certain supplements, foods, over the counter medication leave traces of opiates in your system?

First of all , are you taking these legitimately or are you out there buying these from people that get them from reputable Drs. who believe their patience? I would not try and lie my way out of this one, if you are going to play you are going to pay?
I, unfortunately, am one of those people that have to take this junk in order to walk around, get out of bed without crying, have little quality of life with the meds let alone without them and I would give anything if they could fix me and I would never have to take another pill as long as I live. I have had to major spinal fusions, collapsed lungs, spinal stenosis, failed fusions, DDD, you name it. I have tried 3 of the most reputable Drs in the country and they all tell me the same thing, the fact that I am still walking is a miracle. I feel no "buzz or high" or whatever it is people get when they use it for the wrong reason, but my friend, you are playing with fire. My Dr. monitors me monthly, vitals etc., MRI's, I have tried every natural method available but to no avail. Do me a favor though, each time you illegally put prescription drugs into your system you are putting those of us that need it at risk, the media, acts like the only ones that take it are those that get a thrill from it, some doctors do not monitor as they should but those like mine that do, still get a hard time I am sure. Think about what you are doing to yourself, me and others like me before you do it again, ok. If a drug test is all you fail , consider yourself lucky this time buddy. These drugs must be monitor with everything else you put in your system from OTC to alcohol, if something happened, guess who they would blame!! I am not trying to be mean but this is nothing to fool around with not recreationally, once or twice a week or anything. OK, I am done with my speech.

Poppy seeds can test positive for opiates because that is what opiates are derived from. I'm not sure about your question however. Are you currently working somewhere that is doing a drug test or just getting tested for using drugs by law enforcement? That is quite a bit of oxycontin to be taking honestly and I doubt it will be competely out of your system on the test. If you were prescribed it however it doesn't matter anyways.

If the oxycontin was legitimately PRESCRIBED BY A DOCTOR, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. That is the exception to drug testing, like a get out of jail free card..... you should have been required to disclose any medication that had been prescribed prior to having a urine or hair sample taken. And it is possible for poppy seeds to give a false positive, but you need to eat LOADS of them. As for duration in the system, I am not entirely sure, it will depend on you own personal metabolism though. Good luck and hope this helps.

You have been hearing mixed results here, but truthfully, opiates should only stay in your system for 3-4 days. If you are clean 3-4 days you should come clean on a test. but you should stop...pills are the devil! i know!

To answer your question: If that's all you took, and didn't take any since that Sunday, then you should come out negative.

Further: From experience, oxy may be fun, but you are REALLY playing with fire. Equate oxycontin with heroin, as it is pretty close to it, in addictiveness, strength, etc. You can easily get addicted. And I am NOT playing Mom on this.....I KNOW.

You need to stop taking that stuff all together. It's not safe. If you are addicted, then get help! Please! It's not worth ruining your life so you can have "fun" on a Friday night-- There are plently other ways to get f-ed up!
