I do pretty well on Ebay with my painting. Some things to consider are:
Accept Paypal
Keep something listed at all times
Take good photos
Use the Gallery Photo in your listing
Establish good feedback
Start at the lowest price you can afford to start at.

For you first auctions, do easy auctions that you can start low. This will help people to start finding you and help establish your "following"--people that bookmark you and check your auctions everyday.

Those first few auctions you might sell at your starting price, so make sure they aren't your 300 hour masterpieces.
Ebay is all a game, but it can be very rewarding and addictive if you are successful.

My husband has sold all of the peices he has put up on ebay. Probably the biggest thing is he prices them pretty fairly. I mean, it is his art but he realizes he is a self-representing artist and just gets satisfaction that people are buying it and have his work in their homes. Hope this helps. Good luck.
