I think you should put his treats in a spot where he can't reach them.

Try putting his treats somewhere he can't find them. Like the top of the refrigerator, in a room with the door closed, inside of a high cabinet, etc.

Put them somewhere that the dog can't get to them. Punishing your dog too long after the fact won't work, as the dog isn't going to realize why he's being punished if it doesn't happen immediately. Dogs' attention spans are just that short, unfortunately.

Make his treats just regular dog food... and then, when he finds it... he is only eating what you want him to anyway... other wise, I think that most everyone here has answered this one... as in hiding his treats in a place he can't find it...
