would this be too weird?

Question

This is more of a question i guess for girls. If you see this guy that keeps on looking at you in one of your classes and you think he likes you. Then one day he starts talking to you and says he thinks you are the most gorgeous girl he has seen and he wants your number and wants to talk to you outside of school. But you don't even know him yet.

Would this be weird or would you like the attention?

That never works on normal girls. You come off as being too desperate, and maybe even a little psycho if you push way too hard. You have to start talking to the girl first, then get the phone number (preferably at the end of the first conversation or the end of the second one), and then date (you should be able to do this shortly after getting the phone number if the girl is available and interested). Occasional compliments are OK if they're simple and honest (as opposed to exaggerated or completely false). If you tried that on a girl, you may as well give up on her now. Play it cool though. If I was at school then I would think it was pretty cool.
Since I am 34, it would be a little weird because if someone is talking to me after class, I'm either dreaming or at the wrong place when I should be at work.
