If you are providing first aid or medical attention to someone, the basic concepts of infection control apply in the field as well as in a hospital.

1. Avoid contact with bodily fluids.

2. Wear appropriate protective materials - latex/vinyl/nitrile gloves, cover the eyes & mouth (some sort of glasses and some sort of surgical-style mask)

3. Collect all soiled materials after the treatment and dispose of appropriately. Bandages, tape, dressings, anything that has blood or other body fluids on it. At a bare minimum, collect it all in a plastic bag, close the bag, and ask a professional for help.

4. Ask the patient to tell you if s/he has some sort of prior condition which might be transmissible (Herpes, flu, HIV, syphillus, etc.) Take disease-specific steps to address this.

5. If you are exposed to anything, get cut in the process of providing treatment, or have any other concerns, contact a qualified health professional after the first aid treatment is done.

If you have msn PLUS live messenger the add-one - ONLY IF and you have it there is an add on called key-flasher so that your caps lock, num lock and scroll lock lights flash when you receive a message but sometimes it's set to too may flashes that it goes on forever. Go to script preferances and disable it or delete it. It's called Key Flasher.
