Christians go into a mental tailspin when they realize that their fairy tale bible has been around for two millennia, yet less than 30% of the people on Earth believe it. They can NEVER rationalize their claim that the only way to heaven is through jesus the "son of god" because, if that were true, then god knowingly laid the groundwork for over 70% of "his children" on earth to go to hell for an eternity. Why would a god, who knows the past and the future, put a plan like that into motion, knowing that three-fourths of his children will be separate from him for an eternity, because they never chose jeebus as their savior and only way to the "kingdom"? He knows the future, he already knows their free will and what/how they will choose, so why write so ridiculous a book, so self-contradictory, violent and silly, that so few people accept that nonsense? Answer: he wouldn't.

Is that ever a wake-up call for people, or do most people just ignore logic and common sense?

additional thoughts: Roman Senators wrote much of it, and a pagan Roman Emperor edited and compiled it for political reasons, admittedly throwing most of the biblical books out! That's why it's such a huge source of hate, misinterpretation and foulness. Its users today will take a gay-hate tenet from the bible in leviticus, for example, and seek to make it "law" that all must follow -- yet, ignore every other tenet around it, such as those which would require us to make adultery illegal, or looking at a naked woman during her period. All the tenets AROUND the gay-hate laws are considered ridiculous today, but the gay-hate one...whoa! we have to follow THAT one, because we enjoy hating gay people so much...

Same with the gay-hate tenet in Romans, as another example...we HAVE TO follow that one, but the tenets immediately around it, such as those which would negate oral sex, men sucking on women's breasts (the unnatural use of the woman, since breasts are for the natural feeding of infants...), and those persons listed in Romans 1:30 -- the proud, the backbiters (whoa! Republicans!), boasters, those who disobey their parents... A long list of "offenders" all around the gay-hate Romans tenet -- but they are never sanctioned, of course, because those are the "restrictions" that christians love to ignore, because as the world's biggest and best hypocrites, they not only love to sin and break their own rules, what they love more is to try and force the people they hate to be better christians than they are. And they NEVER want to make their own lives inconvenient by enforcing tenets that would apply to them!!

See the issues here??

OK OK... I see after only a few moments, some of the "regulars" chimed in with the usual mindless retorts...no thought, but they had to proclaim "jeebus" toward the top of the answer list, or call me angry, etc.

the "usual suspects"

sorry for expecting more from some of you. you actually make my point for me...

cheers!!

AHH!! Now i'm lost, hellbound and ranting.

This is what is truly ironic. If you post something for thought and consideration, and you're automatically labeled "ranting and angry"! LOL. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I'm hellbound, too. Heh heh. Thanks for the predictable bible-threats, folks, reminding me i'm going to hell...

I completely agree with everything you said.

But I also noticed something. In reading all of the angry replies to your question, I see that the "believers" never answer with any depth.

Only the usual programed sound-bites, threats, screaming about "hell", and the occasional back-handed "god loves you" meant as a slap. You can always count on christians to be shallow, parroting the words they hear elsewhere, nothing original, just practiced, repeated and angry.

You expectd too much if you were hoping for an intelligent reply from any of them.

By the way, great question and terrific insight. You've obviously researched the bible and its history.

That's a tough subject. I was raised Catholic and went to Church every Sunday. But then I began to realize things about the bible, things I didn't agree with, a lot of contradictions. And then when I learned about certain parts of the Bible not being included in what is out there.

I decided that alot of the Bible is men giving what they think; or their interpretations on the word of God. It is all so complicated; now though, I think i figured out something that gives me peace. Be good.

I believe in God, and follow what I believe is want he wants from us. I try to be an all around good person, and I still believe jesus died and came back.

This subject, if over analyzed will drive you nuts, all you can do it take the information, and combine it with what you feel, what you believe- and sculpt your own philosiphy on how to live.

Flaws are not enough to wake people up, logic and common sense are rare. The bible has some truth in it, but you can only find it by thinking simple, the rest of it is a snare to capture the ignorant.

The fulfilled prophecies of the Bible prove the Bible, all have been fulfilled with 100% accuracy, don't know of any other book that has accomplished this. ...you can do a web search on fulfilled prophecies in the Bible and you should be able to find several hundred or more. From the beginning until now.

(Note: Every phrase of God can not turn out actual if God deceives someone in any respect; the Bible can not be depended on if the scribes falsify the phrase. The first reference is at the same time distinctive with the opposite 3. Thus, the Bible can not be the ultimate paintings of a ultimate and loving God for the reason that a number of of the above references is absolutely unfaithful. Note additionally: Some models use the phrase "convince" alternatively than "deceives." The context makes transparent, nevertheless, that deception is concerned.) Take time to contemplate this.
“And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his [Jesus’] resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, ‘Truly this was the Son of God.’”

I'm not saying that I believe either way with this because I'm really not sure but I don't think the bible implies that the only way to heaven is through Jesus. I think that it implies that you have to live a humble life and help others if you want to go to heaven.

The only issue I see is that you are lost in this world. You have tried to think your way through and you can't wrap your mind around what God is offering you.

So, you can take your propaganda somewhere else.

Have you read the entire Bible? (I'm not talking about as a text book.)

What I find amusing is the more people that try to disprove it...the more become Christians. ((Very COOL))

Many people around the world today believe in the bible. bible principles and follow what the bible says. And they are very happy with it. Just cause you don't believe something doesn't mean you have to push it on others and make them feel like their choice is wrong.

fun rant.

Capitalize God and Jesus out of respect of talking to people who do believe in God.

You say 70% of the people are on the way to hell? without Jesus, 100% of people are on the way to hell. For everyone has sinned sometime and is not worthy to be in the presence of God.

sounds like that is love at it's ultimate.
As far as your accusations, you have an point of view that will not listen to reason, so I am not going to bother.
cheers back to you
