usually i was under the impression that most girls will wait a while before they do it. My current gf initiated it after a month, and in some ways now i feel that it's clouded the whole getting to know someone phase. What are your opinions?

Very good point. But you cannot put time frames on everyone, we are all different. I am 29 and if a woman wanted to jump into bed after only knowing me a month, well I might go ahead and do it but know she is not serious relationship/marriage material, but just a good time. At the same time, many guys would not wait that long. I don't just want a nice warm place to stick it, I want a good woman, so that would be too soon for me.

Personally, I feel that you cannot put a time frame on when or when not to sleep with a person. I look at it this way if the both of you are consenting adults who have mutual feelings of intimacy then the choice is yours just as long as you use protection. However, you should keep in mind that it is a good idea to get to know a person as best as you can; in today's day and age you can't be too careful and you have to be willing to ask questions about a person's past in order to protect your future.

If you didn't want to do it then you should have said no. Or maybe not "No" but in some way casually evasive so not to hurt her feelings. Look, there's no magic date as far as how long to wait before sex. It's whatever works best for the two of you. I'm not sure in what way it's hindering you getting to know her, but if that is the case then put yourself in a position where sex isn't going to be the only thing you two do together. Make sure you manage your time with her so that you still have time to 'be' with her as opposed to just being 'inside' her.

There is no written rule as how early in a relationship to sleep with a girl. A lot depends on how old you are and how old she is. There is no controlling sexual chemistry. Sexual chemistry should aid in the getting to know someone phase. Personally, I feel it is a blending of two aspects which are incredible.

Nah, a month sounds about right. A relationship requires not only an emotional and intellectual connection, you HAVE to have a physical connection and sexual compatability. It's all part of the same equation. Don't worry.....have fun getting to know her some more.

If all you do now is have sex then you should cool it. BUT if you guys can have real conversations and go out and have a good time... without having sex every time, then you might not have a problem getting to know her. But it is all how YOU feel, forget the rules and what other people think.

it depends on both of you...girls and boys now at an early age and stage go to bed together early... Not right.... Best way is get married first. There you have all the lovemaking in your life w/ out being guilty.. w/out thinking of the consequences to happen later...

Up to you & her. Relationships don't all travel at the same speed. Tell her what you think. Slow down if you feel you need to. Be honest. You'll be fine.
