Aloha Chicken
2 1/2 pounds chicken pieces; skinned
2 low sodium chicken bouillon cubes
1 teaspoon light soy sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup thinly sliced radishes
1 (8-ounce) can pineapple chunks in juice, reserve 1/2 cup juice
Freshly ground pepper to taste
Hot cooked rice
Chow mein noodles (optional)
Place chicken in cooking pot and add enough water to just cover. Bring to a boil; add bouillon cubes and simmer chicken, covered, until tender, about 30 to 35 minutes. Remove meat from bones and cut into chunks. Reserve 1 cup chicken broth
Combine 1 cup reserved chicken broth with the reserved 1/2 cup pineapple juice and soy sauce; set aside.
In small bowl, mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup cold water; set aside.
Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat and saute the green peppers and radishes until crisp tender, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add pineapple and chicken.
Pour chicken broth mixture over chicken/vegetable mixture; heat to boiling and stir in the cornstarch mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture has thickened and is heated thoroughly. Season with pepper as desired.
Serve over hot cooked rice and sprinkle chow mein noodles on top, if desired.
Makes 6 servings

3 tablespoons of olive oil, drop 1 cup of rice into the pan and stir the rice in the oil until it starts to brown, put in a whole boullion cube and immediately pour 3 cups of water in and then 1/4 cup of tomato sauce. Boil until the water is at an even level with the rice and then turn the heat to medium until done. Keep a close eye on it at the finishing stages because it will scorch quickly. VERY IMPORTANT- Do NOT STIR DURING COOK TIME. This makes the best mexican rice you'll ever taste. Like a resturant but better.

You can add the bullion cubes to water when cooking rice and noodles. It will help flavor then and the rice absorbs almost all the liquid it's cooked in, so it will have LOTS of flavor.

If you want to get rid of your bouillion cubes quickly, use them as a base for a hearty stew than donate the meal to a local shelter or friend that has small children. You won't have to eat another batch of soup and you help someone out at the same time. Good luck!

Add a cube to the rice you are cooking it will give it a good flavor.
Also, when you are making tomato puree (depending on what you are going to uuse it for) add a corresponding flavor cube.
Add it to water when you boil pasta for added flavor.
DO Remember to add less salt when you add the cube or your food will become very salt

do not forget to reduce the liquid called for in the recipe if you use broth or stock in place of the cubes. If not you will end up with weak tasting liquid or sloppy mess, but it would be 2 cups as said before. good luck

I use them to make gravy. Just make the broth and add cornstarch. You can pretty much use them in any recipe that calls for stock as well. Just make the cubes in water and add to the recipe in place of stock. Won't have as strong of a flavor as stock would, but it works just as well in a pinch.

You can use the cubes to flavor things - stuffing, vegtables, add more flavor to meat, etc - of course you would have to start out with maybe a concentrated broth.
