No, your pediatrician's diagnosis is one that most would pass when they are mildly to moderately concerned with childs weight. Your's being not enough. This is usually a statistical average, based on average group of 100 children at the same age. There are certain things that aren't taken into consideration though. Like metabolism, what types of food you eat. How often or the frequency of how much outdoor time you have.
Most doctor's have seen a increase in obesisty in the last few years and have begun to second guess themselves and their diagnosis'. Your body will naturally adjust itself to your growth habits, some of which you might be keen to already. As to growth spurts, you seem to take in more food and don't gain a pound (or so it's put) you are actually building muscle and bone mass! With the complexity of the human body it's really difficult to tell you everything. If i may make a suggestion? Ask your guidance counselor at school, gym teacher, school nurse, or even your regular doctor about some dietary information. Not to be confused with diet information. What your are looking for is information on average calorie, carbohydrates, and sugar intake . Also not everyone will grow in height or weight the same time or way as everyone else. A guidance counselor or doctor would have more information for you to research that would give you more defenitive results!

Poor nutrition is a contributing cause of stunted growth. They say smoking and lack of exercise too.
