We've chatted a bit, and I find him to be quite wonderful! Am I just being silly? He feels that he will never be able to find anyone. I pray and hope that he does. Maybe in a fantasy world, I wish it were me. I'm sure that would never happen. Crazy, I know....but what if?

Do what we all do. Talk to him, make him feel as if someone is here that he can vent and talk to. The rest is up to fate

I have heard of many people in relationships that begun over the internet. Lots claim to be happy, but some are`nt so sure.
Whether there is a friendship developing over the keyboard or in person, the fact that he sounds needy (at this time in his life) and that you feel compelled to his 'hurt' should both be questioned. Dont believe that you could or should be the one who can help 'fix' him.
Everyone gets lonely at times and some are lonelier than others, but healthier and happier relationships are made when 2 people are`nt trying to fill something deeper within themselves through the relationship.
And of course you really need to remember - you dont really know him, and this is the internet your dealing with!!!! CAUTION!

Plenty of people feel that way. We've all gone through lows where we feel like we'll never find the right 'one' for us. Try to keep his spirts high and as far as that special someone being you, pursue him just like you would anyone else.

just be there and try to keep his spirits up, I am not sure why you say there is no chance for the two of you, but if you are interested you can do all you can to find a way around them

The source of his pain is an area that you don't want to get into. Jessica, tread lightly here.

You'll never know unless you check it out. Be careful he could be a phsyco.

He sounds like an artsy type...However, he also sounds like trouble. Keep him as an online friend only and only that.
