Wow. After reading some of the links on dating I am pretty surprised.
I have dated mostly Spanish speaking ladies, but I'm in college now and there is way more to choose from. My parents always have told me they will be happy with whomever I am happy with. I sometimes wonder if my parents are unique, is it because they are mexicans, or are most parents from most races open minded?
Hopefully, some Mexican college guys could answer this one with their personal experience.

My family is from Mexico City. They are both educated and chose to live in the US because our family members stayed after pursuing degrees in US universities.

Don't know how it is, but a lot of traditional families DON'T like it. Like my dad for example....i'm what you call 'blaxican' half black half mexican, and my dad's black mom ....well mexican. My abuelita and abuelito? THEY HATED MY dad in the beginning....they really really didn't like him because he was black, and there was a bit of tension and drama in that whole scenario. WELL...that slowly but surely changed, as my dad is a good hard-workin man, and took care of me and my mother n stuff after marrying her, and with all that my dad has done n stuff they love him like he was their son. So it's all good now.....but i've noticed some traditional families don't look too kindly to the whole interracial thing, or just the opposite, they just don't want them dating a certain race, be it white or black. Kinda odd....but that's just for some....the rest don't care just as long as there's happiness (or money)...it's all good.

Race is an illusion put on people from older times. Everyone is different saying a certain race is more open-minded is stereo typeing. Most of it matters on how someone grew up , Your very lucky to have parents like that who want you to be happy with whoever you are happy with no matter what race. So what im saying is its not just mexican parents but other parents too. well the good ones anyway lol.

Wow! My family is the same way, especially on my mothers side! My great-grandpa from the Caribbean married a White Venezuelan person. On my mothers side, I have 4 aunts/uncles, 2/4 of them married white people. The only ones that didn't was my mom and her brother. I'm the dark person of my family and I'm not even dark! I'm average skinned black person!

I am American and my husband is Mexican. His family is in Mexico but we have flown over several times to visit with them. Once before we were married and a few times afterwards. They have always been very loving and respectful of me. We aren't able to communicate very well (estoy aprendiendo Español) but they know I love him and they know he loves me. That's all they seem to care about.

I am American/Mexican/Hispanic/. I don't think it should be a problem, as long as the person you are with respects, and embraces your heritage. If she can't do that she is not worth being with.
