I love standard poodles. They are my all-time favorite breed for several reasons:
high intelligence
moderate activity level
non-shedding
non-allergenic
happy/funny personality
a million different haristyles to chose from
That said, standard poodles are not for everyone. They require regular grooming and are a medium to large breed (which means more food, exercise, etc.)

They are considered one of the (if not THE) smartest breeds out there. I have four. The grooming is a challenge, but their personalities and intelligence balances out the grooming.
WORD TO THE WISE: Don't ever take two males from the same litter. They'll fight to the death for alpha rights.

some standard poodles are ssssooooo pretty! some are just not my kind. but sometimes, their personality is so cute!

smartest dogs ever !! and i have danes... but i raised standard poodles before danes. and they are oso smart. and easy to groom if you do it every other day your self and if you want learn thi clipping, its fun! we used to stain our "kids" with koolaid! red at christmas , orange at halloween... works on whites only..

a lot of maintenance...needs to be professionally groomed every 4-6weeks and brushed daily,,if you have the money (40-50 every groom) and time...i say go for it..they are nice dogs..
