Freemasons are a fraternity "men only" There is also a female version called the Eastern Star. They have three appendent bodies the York Rite Scottish Rite and Shriners. Masons raise money for charity providing millions of dollars a day to various charities and it costs about 8 million a day to run a Shriners hospital where a child is treated at no charge. A society of secrets rather than a secret society all our rituals are plastered all over the Internet. But our grips, keys, and tokens are kept as secret as possible in the information age. Another words don't believe all you read on the Internet! Yes George Washington was a mason! And no its not a religion but we all believe in a higher power. I hope this helps.

i think that in the beginning freemasons were all skilled at specific jobs like, electricions, welders, whatever. Now they are kind of like a group that do have certain rites and rules and there goal is to do alot for the community. I would not exactly call it a religion. Interestingly enough I watched a documentary on Jack The Ripper once and they suspected that maybe the member of the freemasons was the mass murderer, apparently because of some writing on a wall that by the way was promptly washed and never documented

Freemasonry is a fraternity founded to take good men who have a belief in God and make them better men. Fourteen U.S. Presidents and political leaders from around the world have been members. Because of their belief in Free Public Education they have been ostracized by the Roman Catholic Church. Many of today's leaders are members of that church. There are few secrets except that service is the correct path. Charity is a mainstay and millions are given daily. Religious discussions or political debates are not permitted at lodge meetings. For 275 years the most distinguished members of your community have been members. If you have a friend, associate, doctor, lawyer, or teacher who is a Freemason, you have someone who can be trusted, is charitable, and a good citizen.

It is a society that loves it's secrets and it's major doctrine is that there is no ultimate Truth. They are big ones for the theory of Relativity. The upper level Masons know to whom they dedicate everything in their association to but, lower level Masons do not. They think they are just a group of do gooders but, they worship Satan in the higher echelon.

its an organisation that promotes all kinds of evils. In the higher stages at least. Fremasons do like bake sales and stuff too. But once you get way into it, its basically satanic. They have to swear an oath that whatever happens there they will tell no one, even if one of their fellow masons kills someone....in other words not a good group to be in.

Catholics are forbiden to join them.

These site will answer many of your questions. They are not a religion even though they are as faithful if not more so to it than most ppl are to their religion. They are a secret society or secret club with members by invitation.

It's a male-only organization. It's not really a religious organization, but they all believe in a creator.
