Yes, Abraham was the father of both Isaac and Ishmael. Isaac was the father of Jacob, whose 12 sons later became the 12 tribes of Israel--the Jewish people.
Ishmael is the father of the Arabs.

Only in a physical sense is it true. Abraham's son through Hagar, Ishmael is the father of the Islamic peoples. Isaac his son by Sarah is the father of the Jewish people from whom God revealed his salvation in Jesus Christ. Since the followers of Islam denigrate Jesus by claiming that He was merely a prophet and not God's Son who died an atoning death on the cross as payment for the sins of all who would believe on Him there is no spiritual link between Islam and Christianity.

Abraham is the father of all nations, so yes he is the link between all religions which are for the most part nations.
As far as the Israelites and the Islam/Muslim there is the seed of the loin link so to speak. Abraham is the physical father of both Isaac (the chosen one) and Ishmael (Muslim/Islam)
The bible speaks of Ishmaels descendants as having their arms against men and of mens arms against them. Sadly we are still seeing this prophecy being fulfilled on a daily basis right now.

tubebandit,
I would say not. At least spiritualy, it is not. Because the Muslims have chosen the path against the promises of God to Abraham through his son, the son of the freewoman; Isaac. The Muslims think taht Ishmail got the birthright, but ignore the fact that Isaac got the better promises. The Muslims are fulfilling the promise of God for Ishamail that Hagar his mother got from God.
Genesis 16:12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
Read those verses surrounding the text I chose, and you will see that it was Ishmail who got that promise. And look at the world today. The Muslims are for want of good PR!
EDIT: This Christian does not deny the connection, just the interpretation that the Muslims give for it.

Unfortunately, yes, Abraham is the missing link between Islam and Christianity, but only one is product of a promise. Christianity.

Ishmael was Abraham's first born son from his wife's maid servant Hagar. later when Abraham's wife, Sarah gave birth to Isaac Abraham dumped Hagar and Ishmael out in the desert and left them there. Hagar was pretty upset and cried out to the Bible god and he appeared to Hagar saying ...
Gen 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
that great nation is apparently Islam. so the Jews, the Muslim's and the Christians are the contentious sibling children of the Bible god. and they've been killing each other over who "The Father loves best" ever since. what a cruel father figure all these folks worship. starting with Cain and Abel he created rivalries and jealousies that set his children against each other. to this day they still commit atrocities on each other. devilish.

Abraham is the father of monotheistic religion. He is the root of Islam, Judaism and Christianity... the common link between all three faiths.

Almost correct. As stated above, Abraham had two sons of import. One was Ishmael, father of all the arabs and Isaac who was the father of Israel (also called Jacob). The Israelites are known as the children of Israel as Israel is the father of the Jewish nation.
Christianity grew out of Judaism and, many years later, Islam came out of the arabs.

No. Muslims and Jews are descendants of Abraham While Jews and Muslims worship God of Abraham, Christians clearly deny it, in fact Christians are pagan who worship 3 gods. Trinity, The father, Son of God, Holy Ghost etc.
