you should really talk to your parents about this.

social anxiety disorder is very common among people today and it's something you might have. at your age, school can sometimes be a scary place-especially if you've just started high school. there are alot of older kids around.

skipping school is harmful for your future and you need your education more than you think. talk to your mom and dad-explain to them what is going on and how you feel. they are your best support system. if you are uncomfortable talking to them about it-find the school counselor to talk to. he/she will know what to do to help you

Gosh you sound so much like me... my prob has been ADD plus I am just extra sensative as I have been horribly teased and the blunt of peoples jokes, I thought I was extremely shy too and was doing pretty well and got a good job, but then we had a bully in my place of work who harrassed me and got every one involved... I have trouble leaving my bedroom now, I am afraid to run into some of those people... I really dont leave my house! I hate to see that you are going through this too, counseling though... keep trying, your not a bad kid... I think you might be having social anxiety and it can be treated!

You need to talk to your parents about it and possibly find an alternative school you could go to. I went to one many years ago, although you will have to go in at least once a week to turn in your work and have your progress checked. I don't know about laws in the state you live in, we have a Becca Bill law which states if your child misses 28 or more days you and your parents will have to go to court. I don't think you'd want that to happen. Your parents could get in alot of trouble. I am in no way trying to scare you, but just telling you what could happen. You should most likely see a doctor, too, social phobias can be treated with medication. Good luck!

Are you having panic attacks (abrupt onset, peaking, and lasting only a few minutes)? If you are, and your fear of being at school or about the community is due to your fear of having a panic attack in one of these situations, then you may be dealing with panic disorder with agoraphobia. Whatever it is, it sounds like it's anxiety-based. Antidepressants are very good at treating or blocking this anxiety. Talk to your doc for an accurate diagnosis and treatment. It could turn everything around for you. Life continues to be full of stressors as you get older; finding jobs, romantic relationships, etc. so you need to find a way to reign this in so that life doesn't become unbearable.

Talk to your parents or your school counselor. It's nothing to be embarrassed about. You just need some help with this. I've felt this way a good portion of my life, and it's not fun at all. Don't let this ruin your life, because life is pretty much about having to deal with people, and it won't get better by hiding from it. Think of it this way-you're to the point of avoiding school, so whatever help you get, it can only get better from here, right? Believe me, I do know how you feel. But the more you work at this and get help, the easier it will be, trust me I know.

I would definetly talk to try to talk to your parents before it gets worse. It sounds like you might have anxiety problems. I was diagnosed with anxiety and panic attacks in the 4th grade and I avoided school and was semi-forced to go and would leave in the middle of the day but it got worse every year and I started to miss more and more. And truancy was hell for me, I'm surprised I never went to court. I failed 9th grade by a few credits and it should have never happened. I'm now homeschooled because of my fears of school (now a junior). Things get better with counseling and medication (if you approve of that sort of thing).

I would really try to keep going to school, fight your hardest since the truancy officer is already calling you. And really try to get your parents to understand with what's bothering you. Or if your parents won't listen, a school counselor would and will talk to your parents about what to do.

Sounds like anxiety, have you told your counciler about it, or better yet call your Dr.

Do you have hobbies, etc. ou may have low self esteem and your shyness is a symptom from the low self esteem.

CAll your Dr. they deal with it all the time.

It sounds to me like you have a phobia. Alot of people have phobias of one type or another. If you havent told your parents how you feel i think you should. You should get professional help and counseling. It sounds scary but it helps and beleive it or not theres nothing to be scared about. Good luck and tell your parents.

I am sorry you have these fears and I hope they will allow you time to become totally isolated. Being forced to do the unwanted is the problem. Soon you will see a movie that explains we all try to get along after all.

You have a social disorder. Ask your mom to make an appointment with your Dr. or a psychologist. There are meds that can help you. Take care of it now before it ruins your life.
