It depends on where the infection is. Fpr it to be passed onto the baby it needs to enter her blood stream, but thius is a real possibility if she does not go to a doctor. The baby does not have an immune system so cannot deal with any infection. It is vital that the mother see's a doctor and gets some antibiotics.

She MUST SEE A DOCTOR. this is definitely a possibility; all the baby needs is a cut in its skin to touch some bacteria on hers and the baby is at risk; MRSA is a huge problem because its so hard to kill, get it treated now!
