I work it seems like all the time and my boyfriend works nights how can I get hime to pay half of the grocerys?

try this, buy the things you like that he doesn't, he will get the hint,
call him at night, ask him to bring certain things home in the morning.
If he is that cheap, its more than just groceries.
Dump him. does he pick up after himself, do the dishes,
wipe his own butt....lol

I'm afraid I have to agree, he sounds like a bit of a waste of space if he dosen't even offer. Do you live together? If not he might not realise that food needs to be paid for before it jumps into the cupboards!! (personal experience, x lived with Mum & didn't reaslise how much food cost).
If you do, sit him down one night & point out what it all costs & that you're not prepared to carry on paying for it all.

easy, just say "opps! i left my purse in the card" and drive off and let that Scrub scrub them dishes with his broke tail
