I read a question from a poster that asked "Would you still worship Jesus if he were black?"

But, I believe that if we are walking as we are to as Christians, people should see Jesus in us.

So that would mean Jesus is black or white or brown or whatever, since we are made in his image, He becomes what we show the world.

What do you think.

Don't you all think that is beyond the color of skin? It never was a question of color, but of relationship!

Jesus is in the hearts of all peoples, I have seen him in blacks ,whites, yellows, and the red man. Christ can be any color he wants to be, and he is still Christ.

It's sad. I looked at a pole and when that was asked 33% of the white people in the questionare said they would change religions. JESUS WAS NOT WHITE. There is way more of a chance him being black than anything else seeing as he was middle eastern which includes the African American. When they ask that question they talk about when Jesus was alive. Some people can't get over people of importance such as Jesus not being white which they has been taught for many centuries only because Europeans believed if he was holy he was white. We where not made in Jesus's image we where made in God's image, two totally different people.....well not really lol. God is the one with no definite color and loves no race better than another.

For some it IS a question of color and IF Jesus was Black then some believers and followers who quickly become Atheists or deny that was really Jesus.

You, however, are ultimately correct.

You know I keep asking the Agnostics and Darwinists what COLOR Homo Erectus was!

No one has yet to answer than and the questions on that topic have since diminshed!

It doesn't matter WHO your Chirist is. Jesus or Homo Erectus.

But when it comes down to WHAT COLOR his Skin was, that's a touchy subject!

It shows that both Atheist and Theist have something in common. They were "created" by something that had their skin color and if it were any other skin color they seem to have some problems dealing with it.

Isaiah 53:2-30 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
He has no form or comeliness: And when we see Him. There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him, He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

I think about these passages, and how we sometimes judge people by first impressions based on looks. Would we have looked upon Jesus like this, no matter what His color??? I would hope we see the beauty & love in His eyes.

So, yes I believe I would worship Him no matter what color, and yes, I agree with your thoughts that if we have Jesus in us, may we shine forth our light, so the world will see the light of the world, in whatever the color we are.

Jesus died for us, while we where still sinners so we could be saved from death & have a intimate personal relationship with Him.That's love which we can't even phantom!

If we're all decendents of Adam and Eve does race really matter? Historically Jesus would have probably looked like the middle eastern peoples of today. Think about it, the Bible takes place primarily in the middle east. The area we now know as Iraq is mentioned quite frequently.

Jesus as the spirit takes on the forms of all of God's people; black, white, brown, etc. Showing kindness to anyone shows Jesus in us.

I think & believe that the best & right concept of who Jesus Christ really was & is,and the lives of his first disciples as well,is in all 4 of the Gospels. In terms of religion, the entire New Testament, especially the 4 Gospels, deal with the fact that Christ & his first disciples were all devout ancient Middle Eastern Jews. That also covers the part of the world that they're from.If they were alive today, they would be called Sephardic Jews-Jews who come from North Africa & the Middle East. In terms of race, they were all dark skinned Caucasian people,as are most of the people who are from that part of the world today. I know, because I saw them when I travelled to Israel 7 years ago on a church group tour. Also,in terms of the best Christian artwork as to what Jesus Christ & his first disciples looked like, Orthodox Christian artwork is the best.

People have a tendency to put things in the perspective of their circumstances, their life histories, things that have shaped their lives however positive or negative so, we put those same conditions on God and Jesus Christ to fit in to our understanding so we may comprehend with a degree of comfort. Physical attributes should not matter. Jesus was a Jew we know that, it does not matter if he was a light skinned jew or a dark skinned jew, nor should it matter if he was a light skinned 'black' man or a dark skinned 'black' man, a light skinned Mexican or a dark skinned Mexican. Every race has different degrees of skin color it doesn't make them any less a person, but in Jesus' case, I think, it's what he was born and died for and all that he did in those 33 years he lived.

The Bible clearly states that God is no respector of person. He neither sees us as white or black male nor female. Whatever color he may be he died for us so we wouldn't have to. He suffered on the cross so we wouldn't have to. Is that not enough reason to want to serve him, to praise and worship him. He gave his life for all of us. Would you give your life for someone? Probably not. We were made in his image which is. That image is a loving person. One who can accept anyone for who they are not what they may have become. He made us to love one another even though we may not even know that individual. We should always live a life so that others can see Jesus in us.

Jesus' appearance and skin color have no bearing on what He did for us on the cross.

Every culture develops their own depictions of Jesus Christ. European Christians envisioned a Caucasian Jesus. African Christians depict Jesus as being African. And so on, and so forth.

Of course, I would worship Jesus if He was black, white, Asian, Hispanic, Aboriginal, Native American, or whatever He was. Jesus is Jesus, and nothing will change that.

First off Jesus was a Jew...He was neither black or white. We are made in God's image and not Christ's. God is a being it is never said to what his race is just his image. I could care less if Jesus was pink with purple polka dots. I would still worship God through Jesus. I don't believe we are to worship Jesus I believe he was a vessil to show God's love to us. Yes I believe in Jesus and know that he is the son of God but I believe we are to worship God. The only way to the Father is but by Christ. I wish you well on your Quest and God Bless.

I believe that the body of Jesus was brown- the same as the people in the middle east because those were the people he lived with. I also believe the spirit of Jesus lives in each of us which has no color at all.
