Only happens sometimes and is fixed by getting off the gas and then giving it a lot more gas. Then it runs fine. Also seems to jump when I am stopped at a stop sign, I can feel the car jumping a little. Oil filter, air filter, plugs/wires all up to date. Tranny fluid is good. I saw this stuff at Walmart, Tranny cleaner, in a Gel form, would it be worth trying or am I looking at a getting a new transmission?

Get your transmission flushed if this hasn't been done in the past year. A tranny flush usually costs about $70. Don't waste your money on transmission additives; most of them just do more harm than good. And you mentioned it only happens sometimes, it may not be your transmission at all. I'd have your local Ford mechanic test drive it and see what he thinks. They probably won't charge you anything.

Had a 1994 Taurus....they had tranny problems with those models....the forward clutch piston in the tranny was the problem

If the check engine light is on have it diagnosed at a repair shop, there is a code in the control module. It could be low fuel pressure or a defective camshaft position sensor, it needs to be properly diagnosed.

i own a repair shop, and you need to take it to a transmission mechanic and let him look it over he might be able to actually save you some money on it,i don't think its too serious right now,but if you keep driving it,you may have problems with it,good luck i hope this help,s.

Do not add anything to it. It sounds like a plug wire but if you changed them it could be a coil.
