It's funny, but I don't like expensive wines. I like the cheap wines that are really fruity like Arbor Mist wines or Boones Farm. Those are really good and incredibly cheap. I think Boones is made from apples instead of grapes. I prefer fruity wines that are more like kiddie drinks....maybe because I'm not a drinker.

Well, if you generally don't like the taste of alcohol, then you might never acquire a taste for wine. But no, not all wines suck. There are many different wines, with many differences. You might look into a wine tasting class or something where you can try different ones and see if they can help you find one you like.

Wine, like art, is very subjective.
I'm a wine lover. By far, I do not like most of the wines I try.
However, when I come across one that I like, it sticks with me.
If you want to develop your wine palette, go to some wine tastings. You'll get to try a few sips of many different wines.
Order a glass of wine at a restaurant. If you can't decide on what you want, have your waiter bring you a tasting (tiny amounts of 3-4 different wines).
When you find a taste that you like, ask your Bin Master (dude at the wine store) for something comparable. If he says "fruity oaky toasty" for everything, run. Don't let price be a factor in selecting your wines. My favorite (below) is $6.99 a bottle. Expensive does not equate to better.
Personally, I like buttery wines with no oak and tropical finishes.
Columbia Crest Grande Estates Chardonnay is my absolute favorite!

Wine drinkers generally have to aquire the taste. I know that before this summer, the thought of wine turned my stomach. However, I lstarted drinking sweet white wines and now can tolerate them. I still don't like them, but will have a glass with dinner here or there.

Depending on how old you are. Your taste buds do change several times in your life.
Most people who dislike the taste of Alcohol seem to have an allergic reaction to it in some way. Maybe you are not ever suppose to drink and this is your body's way of telling you this.
Think of this as a money saver, you will be saving a heck of a lot of money over time. No DUI/DWI's because you will never be drunk.

I'm not a big fan of wine either, but recently tried one called Ballatore. It was very good and the only one I like so far.

Have you ever tried homemade wine? It's really good. It's the best I've ever tasted.

I agree with you--100%!!
Alcohol--any alcohol tastes bad to me.
It probably tastes bad to everyone at first. It's peer-pressure that makes people drink it until it tastes good.
The same thing is true for cigarettes.
Left alone, no one would touch either of these because their first taste-experience is negative.

I'm with you 100% - every wine I've ever been coaxed into trying tastes like something you might clean paint brushes with.
I guess I'm just not into the bouquet or lingering fruity flavors........uncivilized, I guess.
