you act like non belivers say to themselves "screw god, I want to be tortured forever" People simply live their lives, and since it is different than how you (christians) were raised, it is you pushes hell in our faces. God is not giving me a choice. If he stood before me and told me the ways I would obey his every command and so would every non-christian on this planet. But it is not God who is talking to me. It is you(christians). And why should I believe you? WHAT DID YOU EVER DO TO DESERVE MY TRUST OR ANYONE ELSES. All you have done is told me unbelievable stories with a close minded attitude. You are not my god and have not earned my trust. When god tells me himself what he wants of me I will obey and so will any other non christians. So dont tell me I have chosen to not follow god, I have chosen not to follow you. and once again you are not god. And people of 2000 years ago i have zero trust in so the book they wrote is from them, not god.

Well, I think there is something to be said for the fact that hell is a choice. Consider the following:

-----
Once upon a time, a man with a certain military bearing approached a Zen master and asked: "Master, do Heaven and Hell actually exist?"

The master wanted to answer in the affirmative, but knew that this would give the man a false impression. In all likelihood the man operated under the mundane paradigm that Heaven and Hell exist as places for souls in the afterlife. The master knew what he must do to break through that false preconception.

"What is your occupation?" He asked.

"I'm a general." This explained the military bearing about him.

The master burst out laughing. "What idiot would ask you to command an army? You look more like a butcher to me!"

This enraged the general. With a roar he drew his sword. He could cut down this defenseless old man in an instant.

"Here lie the gates of Hell," said the master. These simple words stopped the powerful general dead in his tracks.

Realization flooded in. The general suddenly understood that the master had risked his life in order to teach him a great truth in the most effective way imaginable.

"Forgive me, master, for what I was able to do." He felt all at once gratitude, amazement, and shame.

"Here lie the gates of Heaven," said the master.
-----

So, it is a matter of choice, even if you don't believe in God. On some level you must acknowledge the wisdom contained in the passage. I honestly believe that this is actually the essence behind the Christian faith, it just has been misrepresented for so long. Now days its seems religion is more about accepting whatever you are taught as absolute truth rather than seeing the wisdom in the teachings.

I believe that if we have free will, we have only one choice, and that is against God, never for him. God himself needs to do the choosing and the saving of a world full of really lost sheep. We aren't made robots by God; we were robots in the first place with our only one choice. And with salvation, our eyes are opened as to where we were headed, and not having access to the Book of Life, our job is to simply tell others the good news -- not "pushing hell" as you mentioned, but rather telling folks, hey, there really is something to this Christianity stuff. Unfortunately, the world doesn't want to be saved. Sorry you feel this way about Christianity and the speeches you've been getting, but the religion itself is still worth a look.

The book written 2,000 yrs or more ago is the written history of mankind up until the Garden of Eden then it is the history of the start of one race of mankind.AS the Chief players ADAM and EVE met other tribes outside of the Garden after they were escorted out the gate . If they were the first then there should have been no others there. So right there you have a misleading statement.
But the Christian religion has clamped onto this idea. As they are a Sept of Judaism.
Without the idea of Hell and the fear and shame of punishment for letting Jesus die on the cross. they would have very little to keep people coming to their church.

ok, first of all, God is giving you a choice. You don't have to obey his "commands" to get into heaven. "Christians" nowadays make Christianity to be works based thinking that the more good works they do, the better chance they have to get into heaven. To get to heaven all you have to do is truley believe that Jesus is God's son sent to earth to live a sinless life and die for our sins, rise on the 3rd day and have His soul live on earth forever.

Okay that was so sunday school....

anyway, i'll just give you MY view. it has been proven that the Bible is real. It is the only book in history that has survived in it's true form for so long. Everything is has predicted has become true. The men who wrote it weren't speaking their own words, it was all inspired by God.

The entire point is that you CAN'T trust humans. We are finite beings that screw up every chance given to us. That is why God is so amazing. He gives us chance after chance to see Him and ask for forgivness - then find Him and get to know Him more. Then you'll get the most crazy sweet gift of all.... knowing JESUS CHRIST himself and becoming more like Him. Then you can die in yourself, leave your flesh and have the Holy Spirit take over. You would become more humble, put others before you, and the world would be how God meant for it to be.

i don't want to push hell in your face. My personal view (from experience) is that life without God IS hell. God is desire. Gos is love. I've never been more alive since I've known Him. I've been through alot - from sex, drugs, hating God, trying to do things for myself, denying my faith and trying to love a good life with no worries. It got me nowhere. I am more loved than I'll ever be. And I can talk to you all day about experiences with God that take my breathe away.

so i'm sorry you don't have that. and i'm really sorry you have gotten this world's view on christianity. i don't agree with alot of it myself (especially mega churches that cost billions of dollars and tv evangeligest - eh that's close) but that's another subject all together.

sorry if i haven't answered your question, but i wasnted you share what i have in hopes that you can find it as well some day :)

Ok girl, here's the deal. Do you feel the need? Do you feel like your life sucks, like trying to fill your life with sex or a boyfriend doesn't make you happier, and like your life is currently pointless? If so, that is the start. You have to come to Jesus broken. You have to know that by yourself, your happiness if fleeting. Christianity is not a formula that makes everything better right away. It is a relationship with the Creator of the Universe. Think about that... A relationship. You know how important communication is in a relationship right? If you feel sad, don't you think that God wants to hear about it? Tell Him. He can handle it all. Tell Him that He seems distant, and that you don't know how to be a Christian. Be honest with Him. Tell God that having sex with you boyfriend makes Him feel more distant, and only ends up making you feel guilty. Ask Him to help you do what is right. Pray out loud if need be, but it's more important to be earnest and sincere. Then, spend some time really studying the Bible. Don't just casually skim it to make yourself feel like you are following the formula. Then think on it. Let the Holy Spirit speak to you. God's Word can change your life if you let it. Like I said, it doesn't make your life better instantly. In fact, the Bible says that unless you ground yourself deeply in God, trials and temptations can wither you like the hot sun can wither a fragile plant. Satan doesn't want you to be happy and he will tempt you to think that you aren't good enough or he will make your life more difficult than it was before you found Jesus. This is normal. The only way to get through times like that is to cling to Jesus. Read the promises He made to you in the Bible, and believe that He means it. Pray without ceasing. Cast your cares upon Him, because He cares for you. If you want to talk anytime, drop me an email.

More to the point is can Heaven be Hell.

People "think" they will float around, be cool and get to commune with God.

What if after you get inside of the Pearly Gates someone hands you a broom and says clean up eternity.

And that is your job 24/7/365

No breaks, lunches or sleep as you are a spirt and don't need those things.

No one KNOWS what truly awaits them in heaven, but the BIBLE clearly shows God and Heaven is a hierarchy with work to be done and Angeles, among others, do that work.

Work is work.

Well for me... I would choose Hell over Heaven any day. Why? because I am the only ruler of myself. If God were real, I would still go against him, because I do not agree with his morals or treatment of his "children".

If someone like me is to be damned to Hell simply because I deny God, and then a serial killer can be sent to Heaven for saying he loves God right before he dies even though he has done wrong. I, who never murdered anyone would be banished to eternal torture while he gets everything he could ever desire. I would never agree to that. Christianity is based upon hypocrisy. So, I do say "Screw God".

It sounds to me like you don't even know what to believe. You say you are an unbeliever, then in the next sentence you talk of God. Either you believe or you don't. And as far as the Bible is concerned, you must take it on faith that it is the word of God, or don't. That is YOUR decision! Do not try to push the blame for your personal beliefs about the existence or inexistence of God off on the shoulders of Christians. It is YOUR decision. If you rebel, you rebel against God on your own. Do you think that God will listen to some immature, lame excuse like yours on judgement day? Oh, that's right - you don't believe in God. But be assured of one truth above all else - EVERYTHING SERVES THE WILL OF GOD, even your rebelliousness. Jesus loves you. You only need have the courage to love Him back.

Im sorry i have to agree with you, i struggled with this alot growing up as a christian. Its seems so easy to run into christian who try to scare you into believing, and make you believe that God is angry and ready to strike if you dont. But i have searching and praying and i have a different belief know thats still in developement but i dont tell other christians for the most part. i believe God is helping me to understand the true way he feels. So far i have this: i dont think people will go to hell for not understanding why they should believe christ or even for not accepting because it doesnt make sense. I dont believe anyone who would accept if He were right there in front of will go to hell. I do believe we will be judged by what we did know or feel to be right. Also i feel He is so loving and is not angry the way Hes made out to be. I have also learned (like the bible says) that Gods wants us to be like the "Bereans" they search for the truth. To me this means if you feel you need to look at what other religons say for research and to awnser you questions you shouldnt be afraid to and should in fact do it. Also, It is important to plainly ask God to reveal the truth to you. I firmly believe this is where the awnser to the confusion lies. i can honestly says i ask and dont necessarily get the awnsers that i have been taught all my life. The awnsers i do recieve however, finally make incredible sense to me. so Ask him dont be afraid, and dont worry if you dont get an awnser right away. youve done your part as long as you ask truely meaning it. And hes not angry at you.

The bible was written by people inspired by the holy spirit so therefore it did not come from man but god. Just as the christians were inspired by the holy spirit back then, so are we today. Jesus lives in us, so when we speak the word of god it comes from him, he uses us we are his messengers. Have you ever read the Bible? If not then maybe you should, then you would understand why we do the things we do. Which god do you obey?
