Hey Dekkfm,
How is FREE?
Here are the sites that I know of, each has a purpose, whose goals may be different than yours. Read about them. See if you should really become part of a surname study, or a global ethnic identification. Later.

I've used Trace Genetics. You need to read the fine print for any company you choose. National Geographics is the least expensive but they don't offer much personal information for genealogy research. Please learn what you will gain from certain tests first. They should explain what the test can and cannot tell a customer. If you don't read the fine print first, you're only wasting your money. Check out Trace Genetics at www.tracegenetics.com.

there is a hundred dollar test that national geographic does ... I cant remember the name ................. nope cant remember.. BUt it can tell you what part of africia or europe your from... I was going to get it to see where in Ireland I originate... but if you look on www.cyndislist.com or national geographic web page you may get more details ... good question. .. in ten years you know that the tests are going to be so good that they will be able to determine even more information.. like what town instead or what country.. like the providences in Africia. Whoopie and Oprah and some other people did this and found their roots. the PBS website .. may also be able to give you information .
