You can verify this in a number of places on the web. It is NOT illegal in any US state or Canadian province to drive barefoot. It's actually safer to drive barefoot than flip flops, sandals, clogs, heels, or slippery shoes. The "illegal" is a rumor. Need proof? I'm not aware of any laws against it. And being you're in a car, nobody knows if you're barefoot or not.
