I just gained 20pounds in 3months how do I loses it am 5"11 and now 160Ib, I just started working and I really hate my body for the first time in my life.... i carry my own food to work and I drink only water but I have not started exercising as I should since I am training for a while. I really don't know where to start what should I use as motivation and are there any internet support groups. I don't want to do any loses with fads or overnighters, I want to exercise and loose it and keep it off where do I start.

start by eating say 6 smalll meals a day. Key word small and keep it clean. No fats, overused sugars or anything bad for you. This will keep your metabalism going all day. Eat 2 eggs, some sort or fruit, and toast with about 8oz of milk for breakfast. Then try a diet bar or some clery to curve your hunger. Then for lunch have say a tuket sanwhich with a small salad with some juice. Continue eat small "snack meals" in-between breakfast, lunch and dinner. Remember eat your main meals every say 2/1/2 hrs. Also start runinng a mile or biking 2 miles 3 days a week with light weight training on non-ardio days. In no time you'll look great!

For your height you seem like your at a good weight. If you want to lose 2 lbs a week you need to subtract 500 calories from your diet and burn off 500 calories. So if you usually consume 2000 calories a day, start eating only 1500. Drink lots of water also. Try to eat 5 mini meals instead of 3 big meals. Each mini meal can be 300 calories *if you choose to eat 1500 calories a day* The Lean Cuisines work well for dinners or lunches and are only about 270 calories.

Losing fat is not an easy task, but gaining fat is very easy. You need to keep a check on the diet and do workouts for your abs to lose tummy fat. You also need to do aerobic exercises like swimming, jogging etc. Here are some points to keep in mind to lose belly fat:· Consume less sugar, processed foods and sodium. · Eat fiber rich foods like green leafy vegetables.· The diet should contain protein, carbohydrates and little fat.· Drink plenty of water and fruit juices.· Eat in small quantities for five to six times a day. · Do at least 30-60 minutes cardiovascular exercises at least 4 times a week. · Do strength training and ab exercises at least 3 times a week.

All civic and federal governments have health departments, often with great websites and links to community groups nearby for exercise, cooking etc..
As well there are sites like the Mayo clinic nutrition and diet.where up to date studies and info on healthy eating can be read..but I also read a study of two groups. One low fat,low carb and other diets for weight loss...and the second group on their regular diet. The exception was both groups had to drink two 8 oz.glasses of skim milk each day. Both groups lost 10 pounds in 2 months.

Week one
Day one. Breakfast.... Glass of milk, Banana and a Apple.(apple is neg 50 cal. so eat as many through out the day as you can

Lunch. 2 glasses of water green beans. and an Orange ( dont eat corn at all.Theres enough corn in everything you eat look on the lables of you food corn syrup is in everything and its really not that good for you)

Dinner Chicken noodle soup,and 1 glass of OJ. Stay away from eating anything after 7pm

Snacks should be dryed fruit if possible.

Day 2 Breakfast 2 poptarts 1 glass of milk

Lunch. A Salad no lettice cucumbers carrots cabbage ect. 2 glasses of water.

Dinner Kiwi, Watermelon and a banana 2 glasses of water.

Day 3-7 Breakfast Chereos

Lunch Cabbage soup As much as you want except bananas as you want Crainberry juice.

Dinner Cabbage soup 4 glasses of water

Day 8. Breakfast. Strawberrys and bananas in milk eat as a cereal or as a drink in a blender. Both are good.

Lunch 1 Steak and a potato 3 Glasses of water

Dinner. a Fruit salad 2 glasses of water.

Day 9-11 Breakfast Apples dipped in plain yogurt. and a glass of Milk.

Lunch Cabbage soup. Water as much as you can drink.

Dinner.Cabbage soup 4 strawberrys and a glass of milk in a blender . As much fruit as you want no bananas.

Day 12-14 Breakfast Granola bar and a poptart. as much fruit as you can eat. cranberry juice.

Lunch Plain yogurt. water, Any green veg. and any fruit you want your choice, even a banana.

Dinner Cabbage soup.

Day 1,3,6,,8,11,14 Run 2 miles.
Day 2,5,13 Do 50 push ups and 50 sit ups
Day 4,7,9,10,12 Go to the gym and work upper body on the even number days and lower body on the odd days

well you could start walking around the neighborhood for a change for 45 minutes daily, to watch what you eat as well as to read the labels. drink tons and tons of water-here's one tip that might help you even better: drink some water before you eat your meal since it will fill you up and you will not eat as much! then my next step is to get the 100 calorie Chips Ahoy and Oreos from Nabisco because those are great as snacks-only one per day! cut some apples,celery and carrot and have 1 tablespoon of reduced fat peanut butter and you have a healthy snack. also, watch the portion size that you carry with you! have 5 small meals a day plus 3-4 small snacks to keep your sugar level elevated at all times. try to eat as less of sugar, creamy sauces-alfredo- as well as make some healthy changes in your life: try fat free dressing or olive oil-extra virgin, that is- and balsamic vinegar to make a salad the healthiest. eat fruits and veggies, but most of all do not give up eating what you love! i am European and i see what women eat there and how they are still skinny! the secret is moderation as well as being active! my best advice is to have a goal in mind for each week and try to achieve it. let us say you want to lose 2 pounds this week, then you will decrease you caloric intake as well as work out more. here is my best advice when it comes to working out: get your MP3 player and head for the gym! there, do 45 minutes of walking at lets say between 3-3.5 as your speed since you have not worked out in forever. next, as you get better and better increase the speed, as well as the incline! the incline works miracles for you since it makes you work harder and smarter at the same time-i like 4.5 inclines but i work out 3 times a week or more! then go and find yourself a mat that you can do crunches on. and lay down on it and out your feet in the air at 45 degree angles and start doing crunches not too fast nor too slow. if you feel a burn then you know you are doing it right! i opt for 600 crunches, but for you i would say to do 20 reps/set and 10 sets or if that is too much decrease the numbers of reps/set as well as the set number. then find a medicine ball of 3-4 pounds, do the same position with the feet up in the air at 45 degree angle except put the medicine ballbetween your legs and then start to do the crunches. the same amount of reps/ set asin the regular crunches. next i would do some reverse crunches which are the best for your abs especially the lower ab region! sit on the same mat, feet on the floor. then reach woth your arms and get a hold of the mat above your head and bring your feet yo where they are almost straight in the air and then you use your body to bting your legs as close to the body as possible around 25 reps/set and 10 sets. do some lunges with 5 pound weights since the weight aids as resistance and here is a trick that i picked up in my finess class: get a small ball that you would do your abs one, place it behind your back which now separates you from the wall, put it down lets say where your back is and have the weights ready and do lunges this way. it works your butt, glutes, thighs-inner and out as well as calves! do 60 of them-they will be tough though! next i would do some bench dips-the benches where the guys lift the weights, occupy one for you. the bench has to be flat for you to do this first of all, then of the the side-the long side-you have your arms at 45 degrees again and you use your body as weight with no weights whatsoever added to work your bi and tri's!pull your body away from the bench and lower it until it is 2-3 inches from the floor: it is hard to do and demanding on your upper strength therefore i would start with 10 and increase the number! you should start slow and gradually increase your work out to maximixe your program and routine! use heavier weights as you become well adjusted with the 5 lb weights and trade them in for 7 and 1/2 lbs. or 10 lbs. there is no magical number or pill unless you count the diet pills which do not work! there is scientific evidence and proof that you can lose 1-2 pounds a week depending on your life change, new life style, caloric intake as well as other factors!
