First off, I'd like to say that I am not an atheist, however, I believe there is a logical reason for your father (c'mon, now! papa? are you 10?) speaking in tongues. Your father has such a deep sense of belief in God that his mind makes him scream different, unintelligable languages. However, his belief in God interprets this as "speaking in tongues".

Your right. How can someone speak, or breath, or live if god isnt there? Proof of God is everywhere. We are one of he's best creations cuz we can think rationally unlike no other being. Do we really want to beleive that a few brain cells did that? Or He who chooses it. I'm tired of hearing people trying to deny or ignore cuz there all just totally blind. They say we are all from the monkey generation, I say there the ones with monkey heads who just cant think wiser. People say we wont know the truth until we die, but wouldnt that be too late? Dont stop thinking about God, He's always thinking about you. May the shine find you.

It's called hysteria. When someone hits a threshold of emotional excitement, they can do all kinds of unpredictable things. Including standing there babbling. It's not holy, satanic, or anything else. It's just an emotional release.

If your father speaks nonsense then that may well be proof of mental instability but it doesn't have much to say about the existence of a deity, sorry...

i believe because in the bible they spoke in tounges but speaking in tounges is only good when there is someone there to interpit what he is saying it is a gift i believe

my gran did to. she just made a bunch of garbled sounds while rolling on the floor. speaking in tongues is satanic ritual.
