my dear the word is not "ignorant"...but "arrogant".
they are proud and rebellious at heart and will never see God.
God shows his face to those who humble themselves like children. that is when my prayers are answeered i have come to realize.
Humility is gold in the spiritual sense.

I don't. Even if I wanted to, how would I decide which god I should believe in? The jewish, the Christian, the muslim god? Or maybe some african or balinese tribal god? Or an ancient greek, roman or scandinavian god? I see no valid way to choose. I know truth isn't based on a vote, so sheer numbers do no good. And as a nonbeliever, holy books are not a useful source of proof. What then? And yet, I'm told that if I choose wrong, I am punished eternally.
I won't play that game. This god that is posited sounds like some two-bit villain from a serial killer movie. If a god like that exists, I want no part of him.

You HAVE to be kidding me. Who's disproved the theory of evolution? Your god who never shows himself? All the fundies who follow your sky daddy? Give me a break.
Here, educate yourself so you don't come off as a "tool for ignorance": http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?articleID=000D4FEC-7D5B-1D07-8E49809EC588EEDF&sc=I100322
Science is great until it conflicts with your beliefs, right? Those ignorant scientists aren't so ignorant when they're providing you with electricity and heat, now are they?
Edit: Nobody can be this stupid. Provide some proof or evidence that the theory of evolution has been disproved. Making baseless assertions with the degree of arrogance that you're using is just flat-out intellectually dishonest, not to mention illogical, irrational, and humiliating (which you would realize if you had a brain).
And as far as people just *poofing* out of nowhere:
1) Here's a little bit of science education: The Miller-Urey experiments scientifically proved that living matter (amino acids) can come from non-living elements.
2) It seems to me that your god just *poofed* into existence. And if you're about to say, "He always existed," then the same logic can be applied to the matter that comprises the universe, and your god is rendered unnecessary.
Now grow a brain, or quit typing.
And hey, I just deleted all of the swear words from my post! Normally I wouldn't, because swearing really drives my point home, but now you can't report me for profanity, and my post can stay right here, disproving your feeble arguments!

I guess I was a sleep when evolution was disproven, so instead I'll focus on the obvious.
Belief in God is a delusion. Your methods of proof (just look at the posters above me) is that you have 'felt' his presence. Why does God choose so few people to reveal himself to?
The simple fact is that any time any mundane thing happens in your life you are willing to chalk it up and give the credit to a mysterious being.
Why do I not believe in your god? Because his own inspired book is full of loop holes, back steps, we don't use this, we only use that, but not this part, only the other part...over and over and over again. Since the dawn of time gods have been created in order to explain the lack of understanding for natural phenomena around us. You just choose to say that a god did it, as opposed to saying you don't understand the coincidence or how it occurs based on science and nature.

You have no idea how ignorant your question sounds.
A: Evolution has not been "disproven"
B: Evolution has no bearing on the question of whther there is a god or not. The theory makes no predictions pro or con in that regard.
C: I'm sure since the answer is "right in front of their faces" they simply need you to enlighten them. If only they could have heard your wisdom before wasting all those years getting their doctorates.
To answer your question, no I do not believe in god. Frankly, I have not seen any evidence that i find convincing. Even if you could provide me with some evidence I did find convincing, I find there are too many unresolved philosophical questions to make me believe in the christian god: i.e. a guy up in the sky who really loves you, but sends you to hell for all eternity based on the bad decisions you made in a 20-70 year lifespan.

There was a special on television about a month ago. It was on the discovery channel and it was about evolution and it went through the whole gamete, except at the very last they were interviewing different scientist who have spent their life and had doctorates in their field of study. Each and every one had come to the same conclusion. For life to happen by accident was so nearly impossible they concluded there had to be some kind of intervention involved, like God...

Your question itself seemed reasonable, the details that followed, I found offensive. People are not ignorant just because we disagree with them.
As to the question, I believe in God because I talk with Him regularly, and He speaks to my heart. He has answered prayer, sometimes in dramatic ways.
Then there is the rational, logical argument: take a look around you. Whether one believes in direct creation or in evolution over millions of years, one cannot reasonably believe everything came about accidentally without an intelligent creator. This world and this universe is just too complex and too perfect for that.

Yes I do believe in God. I think the reason why is because I do not believe we just magically appeared out of nothing even parasites had to come from something. I do not know what religion I belong to. I think as long as you believe in a greater being no matter if they are called god, budda, Alla, or any other name its still pretty much they same.

Yes. I believe in one God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
But believing is simply testifying that God exists but does not necessitate that one also follows the words of God.
James 2:19
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
It is faith that saves, and by this faith that one follows the teachings of God and glorifies Him through righteous acts.
Ephesians 2
8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

I do believe in God the Creator. I don't believe in your god or your faith. I believe in science. I believe in evolution. I believe that however we got here, it was by God. My God doesn't cloak the truth in mysteries and expect me to have faith when he could have just as easily told the truth. Why play games? If you want to worship a God like that fine. If you want to ignore science fine. Why post a question pretending to innocently want to know if I believe, when it's perfectly obvious that you DO believe that anyone who doesn't believe like you is ignorant.

Yes, I believe in a Higher Power. I also believe in the theory of evolution and how it affects living beings. The two are not mutually exclusive, IMHO.
