I provided a notarized, on going, Power of Attorney for my kids for when they stay with their grandparents. This gives them the right to have any medical work done that is necessary. It doesn't hurt to go with them to the doctor's or for the family doctor to have permission already on file etc.
In reality, you should also talk to them about a power of attorney for them/you for emergencies. You don't like to think about it - but if something happens and you can't answer for yourself, your children will be the next person that would make a life threatening decision for you. I have all that info for my parents in case of an emergency and they have that for me too.

The easiest way is to have a typed or handwritten note stating that YOUR NAME has the permission and authorization to seek medical attention for NAMES OF CHILDREN in the absence of their parents NAMES for the period DATE TO DATE inclusive.. This should be signed by both parties and it would be a good idea to get it notarized. Be sure to date it.Make more than one copy and keep them in a safe place. You could also have one kept in the doctor's office file and at the local hospital too.

Hi, You need to have your son/daughter write a paper stating that you have authorization to seek emergency care for the child and than list the child's name in full, their birth date, ssn, medical insurance info and then the parent must sign it. I also had my daughter put all cell and home numbers down.

I think it's perfectly legal for you to dial 911 when needed. You don't want to watch your grand kids bleed to death if an accident happens. Children are always finding trouble somewhere. So while in your care you make the decisions on what is an emergency.
So the next time your son & daughter come to see you again, I would discus this with them.

all you need is written permission from the parents. keep it updated (new letter every week with current date) along with current medical history. i allowed my daughter to go live with her mother for 3 months. i sent a letter along with allowing her authority to sign for medical emergency. i also included a clause that i was to be notified first if at all possible. but that is something i dont think you need. my daughter did need minor medical emergency treatment and letter was sufficient to allow treatment.

there is a standard form for consent for care. Your local hospital usually can give you this form. If it was a severe, they would treat the child without the form. If you live in a rural area..they would also probably do it without the consent for treatment form. Most of the time, if you are a blood relative, they will take a verbal consent....but not always!
Hope this helps....if you can not get the form...let me know and I will scan one in and email it to you. Contact me at:
bandaid_queen_73722. It will take me awhile to be able to get it to you as I am in TX right now until the middle of Nov...but I am more then glad to get it for you when I can.

First get to know the children's doctor! Then have a permission slip on file with the doctor and have a copy notarized for yourself signed by their parents.

written permission from the parents --- signed and notarized.
Or they can have a lawyer to draw up papers that give you the right to make medical decisions when the parents are absent.

No i don't. There isn't any "devout rationale" rather than that the individual joined a enormous fats cult, that scientific healing must be visible as "towards the foundations." I think in God, i additionally think that he *can* and does "heal" if he desires to, BUT medical professionals and scientific technological know-how are NOT evil, and I in my opinion consider it's an offense to the Almighty while anyone rejects scientific aid in view that they're looking ahead to "Divine Intervention" .... oftentimes i simply wish to scream "That Medical Procedure/Medication *IS* Divine Intervention you fool!!!" *sighs* But a few individuals under no circumstances gain knowledge of. I don't consider going to look the Doctor is sinful or violates any "devout Law" such because the consuming of meat with the blood nonetheless in it, intercourse for the duration of ones interval, and a plethora of others ... BUT i do consider it violates the God-given usual feel and well judgment as good as makes a shame of mentioned "faiths." While there's a few fact to the historic announcing, "Physician, Heal thyself" insofar as to state, that without reference to how complex we as people grow to be in our potential, God continues to be God. And that God can do the not possible while all the viable has expired, there must under no circumstances be any reservations approximately looking for out aid while it's viable and to be had to take action. The fact of the main issue, is that simplest CULTS dissuade their fans from looking for scientific concentration. Any real devout individual, who is aware of doctrines and the Bible good might and would inform you, that The Medical Field is a blessing, advances in technology and treatment are a blessing, and even though God can and does "heal" miraculously, (if He would no longer do it He might no longer be God) it's extra of a shame to Him to disregard what He has positioned right here for our wellness, particularly Doctors, Medications and Medical Procedures that shop lives and larger the first-class of present lifestyles. Does that make feel? xoxo ?
