They do. My dog had a period and bled all over my sheets (YUKKK!!!). She went straight off to be desexed after that.

I grew up on a farm, and often saw blood on female animals when they were menstruating.

They do, but it is something on a broader season, often an annual thing that times when the young would be born, say in spring. For deer and the like it is called rut, for your dog or cat we call it heat. Humans do it monthly, which is quite an anomaly for mammals.
