From the way you word the question, I'm kind of wondering if you believe that's a bad thing or not?
Anyway, society has always been pluralistic. There have been many different religions in the United States since there has been a United States, with Christians and Unitarians and Deists and spritualists and even athiests.
What's happening now is that there is much more communication. People are hearing about other's beliefs more and more.
By definition, NeoPaganism is new, but Paganism isn't. Modern Witches are less intimidated to come out than were those of the 13th to 18 Centuries. Even still, the last law against Witchcraft in England was repealed in the lifetime of some of us practicing still.
Pluralism isn't bad. It was a multi-religious (and non-religious) group that founded our country. I think that they would be pleased to see so many religious groups represented, but saddened by attempts to define our country by one religion's viewpoint.
