I was in the same situation about 2 months ago. I can tell you from experience, that its not going to be easy either way. Ok, so I told the guy that I didn't feel the same, in an email. He had been hinting he had feelings for me through emails, and IMs before he outright told me. He would call me babe, and sweetie, and all that stuff online, but not in person, I guess he was too scared. After telling him, I thought for sure our friendship would be over. He told me that it was ok, but he would like me to tell him if I ever get feelings for him too, cuz he didn't want to miss an oppurtunity. After that we were fine as friends for a while, and now we barely talk anymore. No matter what u do, someone is going to suffer. U will not feel right if u don't tell him, and he will keep falling for u if u don't. What to do? Ultimately if ur friendship is strong enough, u will be able to get through it, but it may take a while. If ur friendship isn't that strong than, u will not make it as friends after that. Best wishes to you. I hope I helped.

You need to let him know no matter how hard it may be for both of you. The only way that your friendship can continue happily is if you both understand how each other feels and respect that. At first it may be awkward and you may need some time apart to kind of regroup (and perhaps to help him cope with the rejection) but if it is a solid friendship, it should be able to stand the test of time and he should want to make the friendship work if that's what he can get. (Similar thing happened with me and my best guy friend and occasionally we still have strange moments, but we enjoy each other's friendships too much to let that ruin it)

If you trully feel only brotherly love for him, then tell him your true feelings tactfully. He has been your close friend, so do not try to hurt his feelings to make him stop thinking well of you, just try to make him understand how you feel. If feelings are real they can not be turned off just because we want it to, so you need to show understanding also if he goes out of his way to impress you. However, you just make sure you are not encouraging him or taking advantage of his feelings for you.

There is shortage of love in this world these days. Treasure tender feelings that come your way. He is your friend and must have been spending much time with you. What he saw and got to know of you attracted him even more closer to you. Don't brush his feelings for you carelessly aside but with tact and kind consideration make him understand how you feel, and make him know as well that he is free to continue your frindship or to end it if he feels uncomfortable with you after you talk.

He will be hurt by your rejection but it is better to hurt only once knowing how you trully feel about him, then to find out later that you have not been truthful with him all along.

tell him the truth, tactfully. Though be careful, you might end up falling for him if he finds a girl he likes.

Just tell him what you see him as. But be VERY careful of what you say.
