I also would like it to be in a place that no one would be able to see...except for the guy I love! So...I was thinking on my lower front right hip...and I was wondering...how badly that would hurt! PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Also...approximately how much is it gonna cost...cause its my first tattoo!

Just do a yahoo search for "Butterfly Tattoo" and you can see all kinds of Butterfly tattoos prices will vary from shop to shop. Price also depends on size and color definition. Make sure and make minor/major changes to the tattoo before you put it on make sure your happy.

My wife says that when she got her lower hip tattooed it was the easiest one she had done so far on pain.

***But before you go get your tattoo for the first time just imagine the worst pain you have ever felt in your life and try and think that that is what its going to be like. If you can keep that kind of pain in your mind when they hit you with the needle for the first time it wont hurt as bad.***

Most tattoo places charge a minumin fee just to prepare for your tattoo. So a quarter size tattoo may cost you $50. You could ask what size they will tattoo up to for the minimum price. And on the hip does hurt. Its right there on the bone and the bone hurts to get tattooed on. I have 8 tattoos. And it all depends on how tolerant you are w/ pain. If you have a high tolerance, then the outline should be the worst part for you. I would suggest taking something to ease the pain b4 you go, but u dont want to thin your blood too much. I would also go to your local tattoo parlor. They are not tattoo sharks. they know that you have a big decision to make and are very helpful. Just make to ask all of your ?'s and make sure the place is clean and they only use needles that they take out of the package in front of you. Hope this helps! good luck, i'm sure you will like it.

Go to the tattoo place and look around. They have hundreds of designs and maybe you'll like one of those, instead of having to bring your own.

When thinking about where to get it, you've already considered privacy, so that's good. Don't get a tattoo that can't be hidden on your wedding day or on a job interview. Also, make sure that if you are planning on having kids, the tattoo won't be in a place that will stretch. Your skin doesn't always go back to normal, and you don't want big stretch marks through your little butterfly.

As for the pain, hold a lighted match against your skin for awhile. That's approximately what it feels like. Crazy painful, but it doesn't take too long and the artist will stop every so often to reload the color and give you a break.

Expect to spend fifty to a hundred bucks for a little design.

I have 2 tats. One on my right shoulder and one on my outer left calf. I would go to a shop that has a good rep. and look at their designs to get an idea of what I wanted. I was lucky with mine cause my hubbies first cousin does tats and piercing for a living. That kind of stuff is NOT regulated by the health dept. and you are putting your life (literally) in the hands of the person that does the tatoos because you don't know if the needle he is using have been cleaned properly or at all. The guy that did mine reuses needles on the same person to change colors and they are cleaned in an autoclave. But on me he used a new needle on me for every color (wasn't taking any chances cause tatoos are permanent and so is HEP C. I always wanted a couple of tats after I got in my teens, but waited and I'm glad I did. Be sure you really want this forever on your body and don't just go to the first shop you see to get it done. Do a lot of investigating, it could very well save your life!!!!!!!

As for the answer that says dont go to a parlor go to a hidden one thats really stupid DONT DO THAT!!!! just think AIDS ok and the hip doesnt hurt that bad unless youre really skinny and if its the size of a quarter depending on where you go it will be anywhere between 50 and 150 make sure everything is sterilized in front of you dont be shy to tell your artist if your uncomfortable

The thinner the skin in the area you want the tatoo the more it hurts. Only go to a place where they sterilize the equipment and depending on the size and how many colors you want in the tatoo it can cost anywhere from 60.00 to 400.00.

You shouldn't get a tramp stamp....any girl that gets a tattoo is definitely white trash and you should seriously consider this....and, at least be creative with the thing...a butterfly tattoo??? every hooker from here to Timbuktoo has one of those...please, rethink your tattoo getting because your entire profile and self-being will be deteriorated with this decision. I will pray that you make the right choice.
