Artificial selection refers to changes to species through human actions such as selective breeding of farm animals and dogs.

Natural selection is an analogues process, but it occurs naturally, without human interference. Basically, individual organisms which possess with traits which aid their survival, are more likely to survive and reproduce, and pass those traits on.
