Why not? We do know of the big bang theory and if God created everything why not the big bang? After all it's pretty hard to tell what precisely started the big bang so God may have well just done it that way.
Not that I believe in god but hey it's a good anwser.
And don't no one say anything about the days. Believe it or not the ancient romans and egyptians had originally a ten day wekk.

It takes man months to plan a building plan on a small lot.
It takes god 6 days to plan out the universe which is still growing right now.
If you mean create earth, he wanted to make us in HIS VISION, so he had to plan I guess. Or he was busy creating something to create something else first.

If you research the scriptures, you'll find that God has said that a day in his time is a thousand years our time.
Genesis chapter 2, verse 17 is God talking to Adam in regards to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It reads: "For in the day that thou eatest there of, thou shalt surely die."
As we know, Adam did eat of the fruit. . . Gen ch5, v5 reads "And all the days that Adam lived were 930 years; and he died."
God said that the day Adam eats of the fruit he would die, but he did eat the fruit and he lived to a ripe old age of 930.
We know God doesn't lie so a day in God's time is a minimum of 930 years our time.

Well, remember in our time frame, that is 6000 years. Consider the complexity. Just the placement of each light beam, to correspond to a distant start, so that the universe would not appear empty.

God doesn't make universes.
The creation story is just a primative story that served as the first attempt to explain how the world came about. It is not a substitute for science nor should it be taken literally.

You have to realize that one day to God is a much greater period of time than it is to Man.
