Before we came to this life, we all lived with God in Heaven. God is our Heavenly Father, and we wanted to be more like him. He had a perfect immortal body, and was way advanced. Picture the scene: throngs of spirits in the premortal existence: everyone on this earth was there. God proposes a plan whereby we can come to Earth, gain mortal bodies and learn and be tested through the mortal experience. Enter Jesus Christ - he sustained Heavenly Father, saying that he would provide the way, but the glory would go to God. (As mentioned in another post, Lucifer was present, too. He elected to take away our agency - and, incidentally, our ability to progress - claiming that he'd ring all back to Heavenly Father, but that he (Lucifer) would get the glory. Lucifer was a leader among spirits, but this decision put him at enmity with God and man. There was a war in Heaven - those that followed Satan got cast out and never got mortal bodies. Everyone on this earth chose at that time to follow Christ.
Christ was the co-creator, with Heavenly Father. In the old Testament, many times Christ talks with the authority of Heavenly Father.
In mortality, Jesus Christ was the perfect example. He is the only begotton of God. He is the Master Teacher. For Christ's mission to mean anything, he had to be perfect. His atonement was infinite in scope, personal in application. He knows each of us, having paid the price for our sins. This overcame separation from God, but we need to apply this atonement in our lives in order that it we can return to live with God again. He also suffered on the cross and died. Since he was wholly Man, he died. Since he was wholly God, death could not hold him and he was resurrected.
At the Judgement Bar, Christ will be the Judge. Who better? He knows us personally, has paid for our sins, loves us and wants the best for us.
Christ is a distinct personage from Heavenly Father, unified in will.

Mormons belive that Jesus is the Savior to the world. Mormons believe in the trinity, but in a different way. They believe that God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost make up the Godhead, but that they are three seperate persons instead of one individual being, and that they are one in purpose.

Mormons have many of the same beliefs about Jesus as the rest of Christianity, except that in addition to coming to the Jews, he came to the people on the American continent (in the Book of Mormon).

There is nowhere that says that Jesus is from Kolob.

I suggest you read "The Living Christ", an official statement from the Church on lds.org.

The main difference Mormons have with the rest of Christianity is that they believe in an extra apostle, I believe his name to be Joseph Smith. This guy claims to have received special revelation from God. He copy and pasted ideas from the Old and New Testement into a book called the Book of Mormon.

Essentially, they believe the same as Christians, only more. It's like having a cake with an extra layer of frosting. Except for sects that still teach polygamy, Mormonism won't mess with you too much. But it may get you children to walk door to door with nice suits when they get to be about 18 or so.

They are good people, take their beliefs seriously, witness faithfully and hold truer to many core Christian and Judaic beliefs, perhaps more than most protestant denominations. The most important thing is, they teach Jesus very much like other Christian faiths.

Mormons believe that Jesus is the son of the Christian God, as they are one of many Christian denominations. They do not believe in the Trinity, however, in that "the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit" are three different aspects of the same entity.

Personally, I think they make a little more sense. Why would he (the Son) pray to himself (the Father) to send himself (the Holy Spirit) to save himself (the Son) whilst he was dying on the cross?

He is our Savior and Redeemer! We love Him! We believe He is the Lord and Savior of this earth. No, we do not know where He lives exactly...Kolob is the star we believe our Heavenly Father lives closest too...
Contrary to what most Christians believe, we believe Jesus Christ is a separate being from God the Father. We believe they are one in the sense that they are one in purpose, but believe they both have their own body and spirit.

Mormons believe Jesus and Satan are brothers. Both pitched a plan of salvation to God. God chose Jesus' plan and the devil got pi*sed, had a hissy and got kicked out of heaven. They also believe God has a physical body and is male.
