My male 2 year old cat was neutered while a kitten and has recently started showing some odd behaviour. He is showing signs of sexual aggression and arousal ( also have his spayed female sister). This is totally new and I am a bit confused. I thought neutering cancelled this and if not, why now at his age?Any advice?

I have the same thing in my house, only they are 3. I think the male is just bored and she is a good victim. Yeah, it can seem rough, but it doesn't last long. If it goes on longer than I can stand, or if he is being a little pest, I just throw my shoe their way, and he will leave he be........for a few minutes anyway. Mine are like that this week. They woke me up at 4:30 yesterday morning, after a cat chase that did take them running over my sleeping body and in an all out brawl. I blamed it on the weather.

Ummm how do you know he is sexually aroused? He just could be showing dominance or being bored and lookin for trouble, he is a cat. If it continues I would ask the vet about it he should be able to shed light on the subject. Good Luck KG

With animals, "going through the motions" does not necessarily mean "sexual" aggression. It is sometimes done by one animal to another to show that it is dominant. The one who is going through the motions is simply saying, "I'm the boss".
