Persia is an ancient name for the empire that stretched from P.D Iran. Today it is named Iran because Persia also is ethnically found in Iran, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan,etc. Persia is today's Iran.

It doesn't exist anymore as a country. You'd have to look at some very old maps. It is generally what is currently called IRAN. Ethnically, many Iranians refer to themselves as Persian.

The original Persian Empire was all of what is noew called Iran. It later expanded to Babylon (which is now Iraq, about half the Mediteranian countries and to what is now known as India, Pakistan. Afganistan, etc. Go to the library and look at the big atlas in the reference section.
