how many people would be surprised that ..?

Question

I have been doing psychic readings since i was 11
and spirit readings for 6 years and studied it intensly
and have never once taken a penny from anyone ?

does this change your minds about us all being in it for the money ?
and i know many many more people who do this

and i have to add that i do not tell futures
and no serious medium i know does either

I am saying this because i think there are too many misconseptions about what psychics and mediums do

a psychic is a person who tunes in with the energy that surrounds you , they wont be able to tell you much more than you already know about yourself , although they may be able to guide you a little and help you in that way ... a psychic is not a medium

a medium is someone who communicates with spirit, they should be able to provide you with enough evidence that they have your loved one with them , with detailed descriptions and personal information .. and the only reason spirit come is to say ... i love you and i am still here ... not to tell you anything bad or to tell your future

all mediums are also psychic ... but not all psychics are mediums
and yes some do charge , but they most likely do so because they have given up their only means of income to do this job that they love so much ... this doesnt make them bad ( although i dont charge personally )
and yes there are fakes out there

i do not do readings from these boards for obvious reasons
i do get many requests
but spirit cannot be called upon and i am not open to spirit until i wish to be open to spirit
you can imagine how inundated i would get if i did

i have never put myself up for any testing , nor do i claim to be amazing .. i simply say this is what i do and know many others who do however ...
the place i do readings from , i did have to pass a mediumship course before i was allowed to read in public and it is an intense course with a great teacher ...
if you want to see testing research at the SSPR and look for the name Tricia Robertson who does do this testing , she was also my tutor at university on a psychical research course .. which looks at mediumship and paranormal activities from both angles including that of the sceptic

Well done! I am also a Spiritual Medium and I have been trying to answer questions on here, but obviously people don't believe what we can do. I do not charge for serving Spiritualist churches or clairvoyant evenings, just my petrol. I do charge a small amount for readings in my home because I am retired and it supplements my pension. I do not charge for those who cannot afford it and have done many free of charge. The only thing I disagree with you is that you cannot study as such to be a medium and you do not have to have a qualification to work as a medium. Mediumship is a gift from the spirit world and I feel very honoured that I was chosen to do this. And, no, I do not tell fortunes either but merely give people comfort and guidance when their loved ones come through for them. I would also add that my guides and other messages I have had through from spirit say it is not wrong to charge a fee. I add this because I have questioned it and I still feel guilty at taking money. Keep up the good work!

Does not surprise me at all. And certainly it must be a special gift you have a fine tuning into the Cosmo that all of us someday will learn.

Even if you were compensated for what you do, as long as you do it for the correct reasons, and you know them well, I believe, there is nothing wrong with it.

There is however valid reason why the general public believes that psychic are in it for the money, you can go on line to a hundred of hundred sights and get a psychic read, as the software for this business is out there for everyone to get too.

any people viewing this information about how great and honest you are could be unfairly influenced - they may then seek to contact you for some services which may cost money - that wouldnt be very fair or honest now would it.

have you heard of cold reading - theres lots about it on the internet in places like wikipedia.

It wouldn't surprise me at all because your just a nice person who helps people by giving them help or comfort when they need it, I do the same and never take money myself, having a gift doesn't me you have to exploit people, carry on been the nice person you are.

I don't question the possiblity and I don't doubt that there are a wide variety of reasons why people do it, money being only one of them- what I do question is by whose authority are you doing it.
God said don't speak to the dead, he said not to dablle in these practices- He did not say it was fake or impossible- He said don't do it. I don't question His reasons.
Just because you are able to do something, doesn't mean you should do it- you have not a clue of the consequences of this type of activity.

Why charge. I think its best to share a natural talent. I've done Tarot cards for free and been quite accurate without havin to try.
