It seems your pc is loaded with garbage. D/L and install adaware, spybot, and a decent anti virus program. AVG free does a fine job, and as it says, is free. I find that when I use Limewire, I tend to d/l lots of unwanted crud.
When you finish running these programs, I think you'll find a big difference in your pc speed. Adaware and spybot should be done daily to insure your machine is clean. GL

A couple things could be the problem.
1. You arent running a firewall, which in turn allows lots and lots of viruses, spyware, adware, trojans among other things. Certain things actually multiply untill your computer crashes, others delete things untill it slows down or crashes. It just depends. If you have a good firewall and protection against things, then this may not be the problem.
2. You have download alot of programs, and they are running in the background, so when you load your computer, it takes along time to load everything. Each thing takes memory, the more things it has to load, the more memory it takes to load them.
3. You deleted something that wasnt supposed to be deleted. In doing so, it deleted important files which makes the computer slow to load because its missing those files. You may need to redo windows if thats the case.
4. You have loaded and deleted so much stuff that your computer is massivly unorganized. Defrag and clean disk would most likely help if this was the case.
5. You may have an older computer which naturally takes longer to load. Like, you have minimum requirements.
Now, there could be a combination of things. Like, no firewall = spyware, viruses, adware, etc. = mass programs to load on startup = 30 minute startup.
Hit start > Run > type " Msconfig " > enter > at the top hit "startup" > uncheck everything but firewalls, explorer (Assuming its there), and anything you dont want to start on startup. This does not delete them, it simply doesn't allow them to startup as soon as you start the computer. When you open them, they will then run in the background again. (Like firewalls and stuff)
My uncle had this problem. He used a registry cleaner and messed his computer up. It took 40 minutes to load, and 30 minutes to shut down. He just redid windows.

Run a system restore to get you comp. back to its factory default setting (back up your files on a cd-rom first). Once you restore, get rid of all the crap like Norton, acer programs, any unecessary programs. Go to download.com and download AVG antivirus & Sunbelt Kerio personal firewall. These are pretty much the best free antivirus and firewall that include free updates. You might also want to download Ad-aware SE and Spybot search & destroy as your 2 spyware protection programs. Set everything up back to normal and you'll be running smooth from then on.

once you're speaking about computer memory, you're going to opt to interchange your hardrive or backup all of your archives into an exterior hardrive to unencumber some computer area.. Your technician might want to be ready to envision what kinda hardrive your computer want. GL.
