Is sex good and powerful? Is sex God's invention? Would God allow the following to be in the Bible: "Your rounded thighs are like jewels, your naval is a delicious as a goblet filled with wine. You are tall & slim like a palm tree, and your breasts are like its clusters of dates. I will climbup into the palm tree and take hold of its branches. Now may your breasts be like grape clusters, and the scent of your breath like apples. May your kisses be as exciting as the best wine, smooth and sweet, flowing gently over lips and teeth." Would you believe this is or isn't in te Bible? If so, where is it and is it proper to read in church as part of a sermon? SHould it never be read by tenagers? What's your thoughts?

Song of Songs book of the Bible, written by Solomon (aka Song of Soloman). It tells of the love between a bridegroom and his bride, to affirm the sanctity of marriage, & to picture God's love for His people.

Song of Solomon of course!!! I think that we need to talk about issues that that the world does. Otherwise they will consider Christians 'irrelevant' and 'no fun' and eventually think that God is like that. We need to teach teenagers about what God thinks about it.

Oh yes that is from the bible. it's from song of Solomon but I don't know the exact chapter and verse. The book is about how God intended sex to be: with someone completely in love with you and willing to be with you for the rest of your life. Not a one night stand that leaves you feeling alone and empty. I think that it probably shouldn't be read in front of younger children, but definitely should be preached in an all adult Sunday school, for people 14 or older. Teens especially should read it because then they can see the fruits of waiting for the right time to have sex. Sex is good when used properly.

I believe you are quoting from the Song of Solomon in the Hebrew scriptures. Conservative and Hasidic Jews do not read it until they're 47. (Can you wait that long?)
No, God is not narrowed-minded regarding sex. It is his people who take what is beautiful and turn it into forbidden sin. St. Augustine said that sex was both good and bad. It was good in that it proceated the human race. It was bad, because people enjoyed it. Mind you, he did everything before becoming so religious. He got a girl pregnant and then became holier than thou in order to have a high position in the Church. Hopefully, we've grown a bit since his time.
As I see it, the real issue deals with responsibility and Commitment. JUST about everybody can have sex, but are they willing to commit to adult responsibility for their actions?

These lines are talked about in Song of Solomon. And yes, it would be okay to use the lines in a sermon. Sex is a beautiful things if done under marriage, and yes God invented it.

"The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 1 Corinthians 7:3-5
"Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love. Proverbs 5:18-19

such things are written in the Bible..written of Solomon. There are things in the Bible you never heard of..unless you read it for yourself. The Bible tells the truth about life and people sometimes would rather hear a lie to lessen the blow.Along with poetry there is history, witchcraft, dragons, ghost stories, war and many more stories- so much I can't name them. It is like the more you read..the better you understand.

Solomon used this analogy to refer to the relationship of God and His people. Even in the NT the church is referred to as the Bride of Christ. That is why the relationship of sex in marriage is sacred because God uses it in this way. That is why when His people go after false Gods He accuses them of adultery. So to reflect the purity of the relationship of God and His people He demands the image of if be pure in marriage.

Your quote from Song of Solomon is a highly erotic passage between a couple betrothed (married) to each other.
God did create sex, and He is glorified when it is used in accordance with His design and purpose. When mankind uses it for their own glory, then God will not bless it, but rather condemn it.

Perhaps to limit yourself to one or two questions, instead of a litany. But to the more important ones.
God created sex, so I don't see how you can impose a narrow-minded view of it on him. He also describes its best applications BUT allows us to decide what we want to do, even when it isn't the best way to express it.
I don't remember reading that particular passage, but it may be in the Bible. Either/or -> sounds like an intense experience.

Like anything, God wants only good for His children. Sex between a married couple is a completion and cannot be beat! But illicit sex is actually detrimental to the people involved. God is not anti-sex, He just wants it to be used to improve one's life, not harmful.
