My dad who is in his 60s now is obsessed about his spots and he's a doctor, so he's usually able to give me a good explanation of what each of them are.
I usually get those on my chest, but these days I don't notice them much with the tan I have from the LA weather here. I would say they're probably freckles, and that you're probably not wearing a strong enough spf on your hands lately. I try to wear an SPF of at least 30 especially if I know I'll be out for an hour or more.

Hello,
These red dots can be due to viral infections or petechiael spots. Petechiae are pinpoint-sized red dots under the surface of the skin. They are common after skin trauma and viral infections. They should go away in a few days. But if they persist then please consult a physician and get other causes ruled out which include allergic reaction, autoimmune diseases, thrombocytopenia, ITP or leukemias.

My sincere advice is to get it examined from a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I took this from a different website. hope it helps!

Chances are you are allergic to something. Soap maybe that you come in contact with maybe in a public washroom. You can be allergic to one ingredient that isn't present in your own soap. This happens to me. I really have to be careful what I use. If they aren't itchy I wouldn't worry to much though. Std's would not like appear on your hands. Still scary stuff isn't it.

Did you ever get a diagnosis? They sound like spider angiomas.

I know it sounds silly, but my mother-in-law gets these things she calls "chiggers.." they are these little reddish creatures that bite her skin and cause redness and itching. She gets them when gardening and being outdoors. Maybe you have the same thing?
