Ok I was eating almonds, and all of a sudden I realized that there was something poking against my cheek. I looked in the mirror and one of the wires in my braces were poking out?!?!
Did it break or did it slip out? Nothing fell off, but the rubber band is a little off.

If you can insert the wire back into the tube, then do it. Make an emergency appointment with your orthodontist concerning the problem and they will fix the pokey wire (they call it a 'pokey') and re-tie your colored rubber bands.
They won't charge you for the emergency visit. At least a good orthodontist shouldn't. Mine doesn't.

Um get it fixed..its not doing anything for your teeth and it could be harming your gums. Also your dentist should not charge any extra as it is part of the braces cost which you have already paid for. Most denitist are understanding if you tell them what happened. DONT LIE ABOUT IT!

I have two boys with braces and they can put there wire back in with out help . It just goes in a little hole in the bracket

1st of all, nuts are a no no to eat with braces... the wire probably slipped out, you'll need to go to the Ortho and have to repair it.
